We visited over a bank holiday weekend with another family. We had one tent and one trailer tent.
There had been quite a bit of rain, so we were asked to leave cars in the car park if possible - not a problem when unpacking / packing up though.
Showers/toilets - perfectly functioning & clean over B/H w/e. There are three showers & 3 toilets, one of each is disabled friendly. The wash room is unisex - a room with two showers & two sinks. However, there were never any queues for the showers, and only occasionally for a toilet.
Playground - ideal for kids under 8. Adventure playground in woods (part of site but 10 mins walk from camping field) amazing for all ages. This time we felt a little more confident to let the kids visit the adventure playground by themselves (in a group) which was fine. It is muddy though so bring wellies!
Cafe - lovely food still at reasonable prices.
Site was quiet at 10pm and we didn't wake until gone 8am, so quiet in the mornings too.
Most people camped round the edges, so lots of space for cricket or football in the centre. The units round the edge were fairly close, but there were lots of groups and obviously no one was keen to pitch in the middle of the field!
Friendly & helpful owners. Fire pit for hire is fab! Two nights is £13. 00 I think with two bags of wood included.
Site is dog friendly. This time all dogs were kept on leads which was much nicer IMO. [dog friendly but would rather they didn't wee on my tent!]
Can't wait to go back! Must book earlier to get EHU next time (only 5 available)! The best all round site we've visited this year. :)

This is the first small site we have visited so didn't know what to expect. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and shown to our pitch which had the most fabulous view.
The pitch sizes for electric hookups were very generous with plenty of room to spare. The site was busiest at the end of our visit with a total of 4 caravans, 1 motorhome and 12 tents all of which were spaced out around the edge of the site.
The toilets and showers were very clean and a pleasure to use. The on site cafe was an added bonus with fabulous ice cream and cakes. The staff were all very helpful and friendly.
There was plenty for kids to do with the play area and adventure trail with zip wire, monkey bars etc.
The site is conveniently sited to visit Hereford, Ross on Wye, Monmouth, Brecon Beacons, Symmonds Yat and much more.
We will definitely be going back soon.

We visited over a bank holiday weekend as part of a group consisting of tents, trailer tents & caravans. We had children aged between 1-8 years and 2 dogs.
Showers/toilets - perfectly functioning & clean over B/H w/e. There are three showers & 3 toilets, one of each is disabled friendly. The wash room is unisex - a room with two showers & two sinks. However, there were never any queues.
Playground - ideal for kids under 8. Adventure playground in woods (part of site but 10 mins walk from camping field) amazing for all ages.
Cafe - lovely food. Reasonable prices. Home made ice-cream with waffles is highly recommended!
Site was quiet at 10pm with lots of space between units. Most people camped round the edges, so lots of space for cricket or football in the centre.
Friendly & helpful owners. Fire pit for hire is fab!
Site is dog friendly, and there are farm dogs (who are banned from the camping field, but who might get in by accident).
I'd probably try and pitch away from the gate to avoid being woken in the night by people visiting the toilets. Getting to the toilet does involve leaving the camping field (through said gate) so portable loo for night time was invaluable. However, it felt perfectly safe for kids to visit the loo unaccompanied in the daytimes.
There are facilities for recycling, but you need to take non-recyclable rubbish off site to dispose off, so take care to separate.
Londis garage on main road (A465) towards Hereford is a tardis type of shop, so has lots of provisions you might require.
Can't wait to go back!

Have just spent 4 days at this campsite and how lovely it was, there is a playground for the children to occupy themselves as well as woodland walks, zip lines and tractor tyre walls.
The views were stunning, it was a quiet campsite, the toilets and shower block are new and well kept, two toilets and two showers as well as a disabled toilet and shower.
There is a small shop which is open Wed-Sun 11am-4pm which sells it's own ice cream which is the nicest ice cream I have tasted for a long while, you can also see the ice cream being made on site on Wednesday and some Thursdays. The shop does not sell milk or bread but does sell sausages and burgers and bacon, you can hire our a bbq to use during your stay. The owners are helpful and their dogs come into the campsite but are no bother at all, my children loved interacting with them.
We will definitely be staying there again.

Brilliant weekend away - gorgeous site in stunning surroundings. Kids aged 13, 11 and 9 had a great time in the woods with zip wire and climbing wall - mum quite enjoyed it too!
Lovely icecream - meat also good but if looking for stuff for bbq go straight on main road heading for Hereford for about 5 miles and there is a fantastic garage called Lockes with a great selection of meat - we were disappointed with the butchers in the village but each to their own. I agree with other reviews - the toilets can get slippy and a bit grubby after a busy day at the cafe as well as campers - maybe an improvement would be adding toilets for campers only where they have a sort of tourist info room??
Still brilliant and definitely returning this year.

This site is very much right in the country, two miles off the main road from Abergavenny to Hereford - a perfect deterrent for Caravans.
The site is a diary farm first and they make they're own ice cream too as well as a field for 15 plots. The top six plots are all electric with the lower plots non electric but the flattest plots in the field are all around the outside.
There are two play areas for kids, one next to the top six plots as well for the older kids an area hidden up in the woods. This hidden area was brilliant and we have never had such a quiet time than with the kids entertained so well.
You can also rent fire pits of different sizes and buy bags of wood which to be honest make a perfect evening camping along with drinking wine, watching the fire and spotting shooting stars.
This being a diary farm the downside were the cows (obvious I know) but boy are they noisy at night and then there's the little flies. There are only two toilets and two showers which were relatively clean but these flies hoard themselves in there.
The café is very nice and is very busy with day visitors, they sell fabulous cakes and their fridge also has bacon and sausages for the obligatory camp breakfast fry up. Their ice creams are lovely and you can spend a lot of time perusing the selection, I would personally recommend the black cherry pana cotta.
A lovely site if you like the country, we might return as the kids loved the independence this site gave them as well as the fabulous ice cream.
