Brilliant site, absolutely loved it.

Great showers, piping hot and toilets although as someone has stated the dryer is outside the room.

Electric hook up and water on pitch which are hard standing which is brilliant for tents as long as you remember to take adequate pegs.

We had torrential rain one night but didn't suffer any flooding on our pitch (no 2). The owner was kind enough to check that we were ok in our tent during the rain.

Nearby attractions include the Honey Farm, the Union Chainbridge and Berwick Upon Tweed.

Great walks by the river and good location to tour about.

Reasonably cheap to go by train to Edinburgh from Berwick, which we did to visit the city and its national trust properties.

Would definitely stay at the campsite again - top marks

After touring Europe, me and hubby have decided to tour the UK and as we have not visited Northumberland before and going from friends comments of the area, we picked Chain Bridge as our stay for the week. The site was very clean, level, small and friendly. There is a TV room where you can obtain milk, eggs, etc as supplies, but you will need to visit a shop. We found Tescos on the road to Berwick, about 4 miles. The amenities, for the size of site, are adequate. There are 3 toilets with sinks, so if you wish for a wash, and all three cubicles are being used, then you will have to wait; if you wish to use the toilet, you wash your hands, then because the hand-dryer is outside the cubicles, you leave the door handle wet - not nice. There were also lots of flies, and I mean lots. You could not sit outside because of this problem. I would visit again, but certainly not for any length of time. The nearest pub is the next village on, about half a mile, which was friendly.

What an amazing little site! It is well-organised with a 'common sense' attitude; on arrival there is a board with your name and pitch number, so no hunting for the site owner on arrival. When the owner did arrive, he was friendly and helpful but unobtrusive. The facilities are second-to-none and spotlessly clean; heated toilets with their own sinks, and showers. A TV room and microwave, plus washing machines and dryers were a bonus for a small site. There was even a fridge with bacon and milk etc (put your money in the honesty box).

The site was full but we found the number of toilets etc to be fine. Most other campers on site were 'regulars' but we found them to be welcoming and friendly (not the usual 'what are you doing on our site?' types). The view was amazing but you do need to be good on your legs to make use of the walks as the terrain is a bit rough. There is a bee farm next door but the bees didn't bother us even though I was stung by a swarm elsewhere last year I was not concerned here.

This site goes into our top five and we cannot rate it highly enough. Well done to the owners, it is a credit to you.

Just returned from a week here, Fantastic site!, we were made to feel welcome on arrival, good size pitches, good location plenty of walks by river. The toilet and shower block. This site sets the standard for others to follow! always clean, very hot and high pressure showers, laundry area eggs, milk, bread and cakes available, freezer etc. The owners are on hand and very approachable. A real gem

We had a lovely stay in this clean adult only site. The showers are first class, best I have ever had on a caravan site, hot water, no buttons to press for more water, large shower heads with excellent pressure and underfloor heating. However there are 16 pitches and only 2 showers and 3 toilets with wash hand basins, no separate loo for ladies (which would be appreciated). Perhaps the underused sitting area could be made into a larger shower/loo area. Site is clean and we only saw Patrick on two occasions, once when he was cutting the lawns and once when we paid although we could have contacted them via their home which is on the grounds. One other thing is the waste areas are not signed so we had to guess until we found our way around. The area is lovely and the site is easily accessible with good walks and pleasant towns and villages within a short drive. Good eating places in Berwick upon Tweed and super walk around the walls. Would highly recommend this site to anyone visiting this area.

What a lovely little site this is - upon entering the site there is a board with your pitch number and your name on. Pitches are a generous size with plenty of room for your awning. There are two shower cubicles and three toilets, hairdryer and a hand dryer, the showers are AMAZING! HOT and powerful. There is a laundry room, which we didn't need to use and they provide small provisions such as eggs, bread, milk etc which I thought was a nice touch, there is a price list for these with an 'honesty' box at the side. They also had a range of books, magazines and Dvd's for you to borrow, which again I thought was a nice touch. They do have free wi-fi but cant get connection from your caravan, you have to be in the building where the facilities are to pick signal up but they do have a sofa there should you need to sit and browse your emails etc. Overall this is a lovely, little, quiet site which suited us perfectly and should we ever be up in that neck of the woods again then I would definitely book to stay there. - thank you Patrick & Nina
