"In the beautiful northern Lake District"
Walkers, ramblers and all those who enjoy the great outdoors will love our Keswick site. On the shore of Derwentwater, the site is only a couple of minutes' walk from the centre of town. You may even spot a red squirrel or otter on site.
Keswick is home to the Pencil Museum with its story of Borrowdale graphite and the Black Market.
The town hosts several festivals and events during the year, including a Jazz Festival, Beer Festival and Keswick Convention Bible Weeks.
The Keswick Climbing Wall and Activity Centre offers abseiling, ghyll scrambling and an assault course.
Trotters World of Animals has an active lynx conservation project, zebras, gibbons, snakes and more.
A regular ferry service operates around the lake. Discounted tickets are available from reception on the site.
The Theatre by the Lake is on the shores of Derwentwater, and stages a variety of productions throughout the year.
Nearby Attractions
The Dodd viewpoint and Whinlatter Visitor Centre give the opportunity to watch the ospreys in flight over Bassenthwaite Lake.
Grisedale Forest Park is home to a Go Ape! high-wire forest adventure and the ten-mile North Face Mountain Bike Trail.
Grasmere was home to the poet William Wordsworth and two of his homes are open to visitors.
Gretna Green is the gateway to Scotland and is famous for its Blacksmith's Shop and its history of illicit weddings.
