The Outwell Montana 6 is a fantastic tent , offering loads of living space and good headroom , whilst it's straight-forward rectangular design is accepted on most campsite pitches , without having to pay extra charges for larger tents .

Being single-skinned with the bedroom pod already attached , pitching is speedy and stress-free .

Our Montana 6 has stood up to some horrendous weather, strong winds and gales ,heavy rainfall , and has had no problems whatsoever .

We would recommend using a 'footprint groundsheet' to pitch the tent on , this will protect the sewn in groundsheet of the tent , whlst also keeping the underside of the sewn in groundsheet clean and dry for when you pack the tent away .

Once when we were setting up on a campsite , unbeknown to us at the time we were being watched by a family in a caravan . They came across later on and asked if they could have a closer look . They said they were amazed at how quickly and easily we were pitched and set up ,and the generous living space the tent provides . With rising fuel costs when towing a caravan , and in their words , ' not having room to swing a cat in the van ' , the Montana 6 , convinced this family to sell their caravan and go back to their tent camping roots . We kid you not .

We bought this tent last year as we decided for the forseeable future that our family holidays would be al fresco in France. When we saw the tent we loved the living space (in a sensible shape) that it offered for us and our two young children, vital for the times when they need to play and we need to keep a watchful eye. It's draught free (sewn in groundsheet), cosy and all the big windows let in plenty of light, unlike some tents. We bought the carpet which is particularly welcome late at night and first thing in the morning.

The side by side bedrooms were important to us too (with the option of being able to unzip/zip between the two)as our children are still young. We love this tent and can't wait for this year's three week jolly holiday in France!

We upgraded from a Vango Venture as we wanted more living space particularly after last years weather. We had our first trip out in the Monty in May and what a fantastic tent. Really quick and easy to put up, oodles of living space. Being able to have one large bedroom is a plus as we have two small children (2&4) and wanted them close to us.

We also bought the footprint to protect the SIG and the carpet is lovely under foot last thing at night or first thing in the morning. Would recommend both of these. We have just bought the extension although not tried it yet next trip will be a week in Scarborough in June.

Plenty of ventilation with the vent\view windows. Some really nice design touches like the cable entry point and guy retaining system (velcro straps so simple but so effective!).

I no longer have tent envy when we are camping as this is such a fantastic tent!

We have just had our first weekend away in the tent it was fab. Great living space, spacey bedroom area, we use the second bedroom as wardrobe and storage room as there is just the two of us. We think the canopy is our next buy to enable cooking area to be outside of living area.
We had some really bad weather but the tent was great. We enjoyed sitting in the tent even in the rain watching the world go by through the large windows. Extra's like storage pockets and fly screens are great. We would recomend this tent to anyone wanting a good all rounder.

We have used our Montana six around four times now and it has withstood torrential downpours and windy conditions. The other comments re the carpet are spot on. We recently purchased the front extension and canopy. This stopped the rain from hitting the front entrance and allowed us to use the extension for cooking and storing food etc. This allows the canopy to remain a nice area for sitting under if the weather is fine. When you use the front extension and canopy together, the tent does need quite a large pitch so is worth checking when you are are booking a potential site.
The footprint is invaluable as it keeps the base clean and dry and is also another skin between you and the ground. Excellent and roomy the Montana six attracts interest on each site we visit and I would not hesitate to recommend it to families looking for a quality camping experience.

Best tent we have ever bought. Used it for two holidays last year plus endless weekends. Easy to erect even for us 'oldies' who are well in the 50's age bracket, and although we had some very wet and windy weather it hardly moved.

The living space is extremely spacious and there is plenty of headroom even for a very tall person. We use a blow up double air bed (height 20') in the bedroom which fits perfectly. This will give you some idea of the bedroom size.

We love our Outwell Montana 6 and look forward to many more holidays in it.

We have used our tent in torrential downpours, hail and this weeks gails in north wales, while others buckled and failed ours stood proud.

Plenty of space for two adults and two boys, easy enough to pitch but you might find it difficult to get back in the bag at first but after a couple of attempts you will wonder why.

Carpet is great but recommend the front canopy so you can still enjoy the outside if weather is poor.

Love it!

We have just come back from a weekend with our new Monty 6. It was easy to put up, but you do need two strong people. V roomy inside, bedrooms great for our two boys and you can stand up easily in them. We have the carpet which was a must and wouldn't be without. Found the tent to be very well made. Not managed to get it back in the bag fully, but this was our first time. Practice makes perfect.

We had a Monty 6 for the first time in 2006, we absolutely loved it until we got caught in the BH rain and it leaked like a sieve. There was a few problems with this particular years model, however, the dealer was fantastic and exchanged it no quibble for a 2007 model. This tent is fantastic, the design allows for maximum usage of the whole tent, especially if used with the front extension which is great too. It has withstood lots of rain and windy weather no probs. Until we pitched up this BH in North Devon. The tent stood proud and strong for 2 nights of gales and rain, with only slight trickles of leaks, but nothing to worry about. Our beloved Monty unfortunately gave into the elements on BH Monday when the wind became too much and the front extension poles caved in and twisted the main poles on the left side of the tent. End of holiday for us and R.I.P Monty! But honestly what a fabulous tent. If you like roomy, airy, practical and safe tents then this is the one for you. I reckon this tent is well on it's way to becoming an icon of the 00's!

This tent quite simply saved my love of camping. I was starting to feel the cold too much in our last tent, but the Monty 6 is extremely snug with its SIG, especially with the whole family tucked inside playing games of an evening. It has survived gale force storms on the hillsides of Wales with nary a leak or bent pole; it takes us 25 minutes to put up; it is spacious and airy, provided as it with ample windows and doors, and in summary is the perfect family tent. We wouldn't swap it for anything!
