We bought this tent last year (2008) for ฃ250 from Yeomans. We have used it about 3 times now and I have to say it is very good. We can pitch it in about 15 - 20 minutes which is just what you want after a long drive. My only niggle is the pole that creates the door canopy stretches the sides of the door too much - something other people have said. But overall this tent has a real quality feel to it, zips and seams etc all feel solid and weatherproof. I would definitely recommend one, yes you can get cheaper tents but if you want something of quality this tent is worth ฃ250.

I am delighted with this tent! Very easy to pitch and partly this is due to watching the chap from Yeomans doing it on Youtube in 6 mins 23secs. We used the same technique and got the job done in 15. I took out the smaller inner tent and this provides ample floor space for kit and then I used the free loops to hang clothes hangers on for coats and such. Also I found that by rolling up the door at the end (or holding up with upright poles) the kitchen stand and cooker could be positioned in the space such that I could be cooking inside the tent but with the heat, steam and smells going outside. The carpet makes it all very homely and this can be gathered up and shaken out outside to reduce the amount of sweeping out when decamping. Well thought out little touches as others have mentioned also appreciated. Can't wait to be camping again!

I have been using this tent for two years now, and I have been extremely pleased with it! It is the perfect size, so that it is not too big for 2 of you, and plenty big enough for 4-5 adults, with luggage.
It has stood the test of time in REALLY strong winds, and heavy downpour! Recently (Jul 09) I was camping in torrential thunderstorms, and whilst many other tents were flooded, and blown half way across the campsite, the Nevada L stood proudly in position, and not a drop of water inside (we even had enough space to take in some others whose tent had flooded!)
Outwell have added some nice touches, such as the velcro holders for guy ropes, pockets inside for plenty of storage, and the thermometer.
I definitely recommend the side extension for when it is raining, as you can leave wellies etc in the porch, or cook under. Although probably wouldnt bother just for a short weekend trip.
Only quibbles are the over-the door pole, which can make the zip rather stretched, but have had no problems with it so far. And during very very strong winds, one of the pole segments cracked, although we were completely oblivious until packing away, and was easy to replace, as they provided spare poles.
Overall, an excellent tent - would definitely recommend it, and will certainly opt for Outwell again when I make a future purchase!

Having recently purchased this tent we have now taken her out on first weekend trip and she performed fantastically.
Pitching could not be much easier, starting by pegging out the end opposite the forward door, which should be open to allow air into the tunnel, then put the four coloured poles through thier respective sleeves and locate the ring pins into the ends to form the hoops. It is then a simple procedure to walk each hoop forward pegging as you go and tensioning the very effective straps and the numerous guy lines. The inners are prefitted and have tension straps to pull them into shape, all thats left to do then is put the carpet down and kick back and enjoy. Total time for pitching is aprox twenty minutes.
The better half and I have been camping now for four years and this is our fourth tent each one getting larger. This tent is by far head and shoulders above any thing we could of hoped for. The main sleeping inner can be converted to one large room 2mtr by 2.5mtrs and enough room for a six footer to stand in, it also has numerous pockets both inside and on the room side front for storage. The front inner which is optimistically termed as a double can be opened on both sides to form a walk through door and for us gives a very useful area for wet gear.
The Nevada has a fully sown-in groundsheet, has lots of ventilation points and with the carpet fitted in the sitting area makes for a superbly comfortable camping experience.
One of the doors is fitted with an eye brow awning to stop water entering the living space when opened, this was the only area of the tent that raised complaint as the short length of four section pole that forms the hoop snapped on us in the first twenty four hours, also it was very difficult to close the door due to the tension placed on the zipper by this pole which we will be contacting Outwell about, but I feel sure they will sort this for us other wise I would of given the Nevada L 10 out of 10 as we are over the moon with it and have no problem recommending this model

Big step up from our old 2/3 man domes! I was hoping for the M for my b'day surprise, and was ecstatic to get this, far over our original discussed budget!
Very easy for us novices to pitch, colour coded poles and sleeves, all the inners already attached, couldn't have taken us more than 30 minutes, including bickering time!
Loads of room inside, managed to fit both kids into the snug front inner, and they didn't complain!
No leaks that we've noticed in the slight rain we've camped in so far. The porch pole is tight, but we were forewarned, thanks to this site, and we are aware and coping so far with it.
This is so superior in every way to our previous camping experience that I'm trying hard not to gush. Love this tent, and want to live in it forever!

We bought this tent after initially borrowing Sister in laws and we definitely were not disappointed. The tent is fairly easy to put up and take down. There are 2 Adults and 2 Kids when we use it and had loads and loads of space both in the bedrooms and living area. There are nice touches such as pockets for bits and ties for lanterns.

I've seen a few reviews and have a few of my own comments.
Rainworthiness - I've sat through some terrific, squally downpours recently (early July '09) - not a drop inside. Water just ran off like off a duck's back.
The door porch - the pole can be inserted over or under the main poles, and I suspect the 'over-stretching' is not following the instructions - put the little pole to the ouside of the main tent pole.
Inner tents 'over stretching' - the inner tents have adjustable connections to the fly sheet, so loosen when you put the tent down, then tighten just enough when you put the tent up, till tautened just enough.
The big bonuses for me are:
1) Extremely simple erection - 20 minutes for me and my 5 year old (15 if I'd done it myself I think).
2) Very spacious for a family, with room to stand, without being stupidly large.
I've been camping for 40 years, with smaller tents before - this is the best I've ever owned - if you have a family and want space (but not a mega-monster of a tent), recommended.

Firstly I must say how impressed I am with this tent.
I did quite a bit of research before I purchased it and would like to point out a few of my own observations having purchased it;
The tent is extremely easy to pitch, only taking about 20 minutes all in.
It has a very flexible layout. There are only three of us (2 adults and a 3 year old) so we decided to remove the smaller inner tent bedroom to make a larger living area. Having done this the living space is huge. This is quite deceptive, as from the outside the tent only looks about half the size of some of the other family tents on the market at the mo. It is also very light in weight, having fibre glass poles. Some of our friends have got the Montana 6 and this weights literally twice as much as the Nevada. This also makes it much easier to transport.
We've pitched it twice so far on two weekend trips and both times its been exposed to heavy rain. Not a drop entered the tent and we were kept warm and dry.
We also purchased the side extension and this provides excellent additional living space for cooking/relaxing etc. We pitched this on the opposite side to the porch door side, which everyone seems to be having trouble with. I must admit that the tent does seem to be under a bit to much tension on the porch door side and the door zip is a bit tricky to fasten, but the door on the other side opens and closes very easily so its not been a problem for us. With the side extension its actually better to use the door without a porch anyway.
We've owned 5 or 6 tents before the Nevada L and this is by far the best quality and easiest to pitch, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to purchase a spacious family tent.

Bought the latest model and have had no experience of the issues that other people mention, with the exception of the somewhat fiddly nature of adjusting the doors between fly-net, window and full door but that minor gripe aside it's far and away the best of the three tents I have thus far owned; snug, draft-free, spacious and completely waterproof in two days of near constant rain. Best bit is the vast amount of window. When inside it's like being outdoors. It was the envy of every other camper in our New Forest site the other weekend, and with just two of us in it it is truly vast. Just need the side extension and we're fixed for life I think.
Only reason it got 9, rather than 10, points is that, having not used every tent on the market I couldn't swear to it being the very best there is. But I'm willing to bet it's close :)

This is our first tent and so we have nothing to compare it to.
However, the tent is so easy to pitch that even a beginner like myself can have it up in no time. The space inside is intelligently laid out and there is plenty of living room for me, my wife and our two primary school aged children.
I agree with previous comments about the raincover pole putting the door zip under tension, but plan to have a play with this next time we use the tent to see if it can be rectified.
All in all, I would recommend the Nevada L and would certainly encourage first timers who are in any doubt as it really is simple to pitch.
