Purchased this tent new for a song complete with carpet.
Used it for our first ever family trip away with my wife, eight year old daughter and our pooch. For our first outing we went up up west coast of Scotland for three days. When we arrived on site it was raining on and off but for its size it is really easy to put up quickly.
The poles used for outer frame are shock corded steel so this thing is solid and incredibly stable when erected. Dont think any other tent on the site looked as rigid and sturdy to be honest. You also get the looks, either good or bad due to its unusual shape. However dont let the look or shape put you off as I myself was unsure, but it looks great when up and is very spacious throughout with lots of head room. So much so that I am 5,10 and can just stretch up to hook camping lantern onto hook.
Although its listed as eight man, it doesnt have a massive footprint to some tents, but inside is like the tardis, spacious with large living area. The three of us could sit in comfort and I even cooked inside during some bad rain.
Rained heavy both nights and not a drop inside the tent and ventilation throughout is also excellent with no condensation that I could see.
The angles of the tent do seem to help with keeping the wet weather out allowing water to run off quickly. The flysheet fits like a glove and is nice and tight with no wrinkles or sags when fitted with no areas for water to pool or collect.
All in all a fantastic family tent that is available for fantastic prices just now across the web.
Would recommend to anybody as a first or replacement family tent.

First I would like to mention United British Caravans in Newcastle. Saw a deal in their Ebay shop for a Sunncamp Prism, c/w Fitted carpet for £149. Rang them, and they were happy to offer the same deal for 'over the counter' customers.
Having driven up there from Blackpool, via Bolton (don`t ask!) they not only honoured the deal, but threw in a footprint groundsheet too.
Spirit of adventure fully alive and all that. On the way home, stopped in a lay by, whipped out the laptop, and did a site search nearest to where I was, Ended up at Fallowfield Dene Campsite, Hexham, Northumberland (review in relevant section)
As for the tent itself, been lusting after one for some time, love the looks, impressed by the write ups that owners have left. And the price was bob on.
Pitched it solo, straight out of the boxes, while going dark, and raining lightly, in about an hour, had no idea it was going to be so big.
Once pitched, it has a solidity that inspires confidence, it has the same kind of angularity as as stealth aircraft, with about the same drag coefficient. Despite high winds whipping through the trees, from all angles, nothing budged, (almost wish I had pitched it somewhere more exposed to really try it out, I did say almost:))
As I sit here writing this, I'm watching water running down the large front window above my head, which would normally bother me but it`s been doing it for nearly 13 hours solid, and no leaks anywhere. Wish id bought it earlier in the season, would be nice for it`s maiden voyage to be a fine weather affair. But it`s looking very good so far

We own a sunncamp prism what a cracking tent. We love it it is quirky and very easy to put up. The poles are very strong and lock together I like the bright coloured guide ropes, no tripping over them. It has stood up to the worst weather Everybody else tents were swaying in the wind not ours. It is has loads of room inside plenty of head room for the tallest of people. Very light and airy. Would highly recommend it to anyone. We think it is the best tent on the market by far!

We have just bought one of these tents not yet been away in it but did put it up to check all was ok with it.
It took my hubby and myself around 25mins to put it up what a great looking tent :) Kids think it looks like something of Star Wars (think that's why we bought it as not the norm lol). Hubby is now looking forward to our camping holidays as our last tent wasn't anywhere near as good as this one. Thumbs up from us we would recommend this tent

This is by far the best tent we've ever owned. It stands up to anything, never leaks despite the wettest conditions, and has plenty of space. We love the way we can all fit in the same bedroom- having 4 under 8s means that we often have to juggle beds in the night due to nightmares/cold toes/soggy covers etc, and being able to be all in one makes that all so much less chilly! The living area is huge, too, and the carpet makes it nice and cosy.
With all that space, you'd think it would be a really outsized tent. It's not, and fits in a reasonably small footprint considering the space inside.
You normally get what you pay for with tents. Tents with steel poles perform much better, but are far out of our price range. Normally. Not the Prism, though.
It's the only tent my husband can put up without the air turning blue, too.
The only slight disadvantage is that it hasn't got a porch- however, we've got an awning/tarp from Argos, and are going to give that a go next time we camp.

I don't know why Sunncamp stopped making this most excellent tent but because it's discontinued I was able to buy it cheaply. Got it for £149 from United British Caravans of Newcastle. They were brilliant, I knew they'd run out of free carpets but was delighted to find they had included a footprint - worth it's weight in gold to me and I got coloured 'foam' tiles from Costco and made my own floor.
We used it at Low Wray last week, they didn't have many pitches large enough but we got one lakeside, This tent is heavy, I've got heart failure and had to carry it a fair way from car park but I managed ok and surprised my wife by putting it up on my own whilst whe was collecting beds, cooker etc. I cannot understand the reviews saying that it's shape compromises space. We used every bit of it. Of course I would have loved one of those £1,000 polycotton affairs but Prism was cool during day, warm and snug at night and, best of all sturdy and secure it never budged in some fairly high winds. Every tent I've had I've been constantly looking out for something better but am definitely keeping this and would commend it to anyone wanting tons of style and quality for not a lot of cash.
Oh, I would like to know if anyone has succeeded with a canopy for it. That would be the finishing touch

Lovely Tent that was very easy to put up (none of the usual arguements we have when pitching) and once you master the skill easy to put down and in the bag also. As stated before tent very heavy so best if you can park by the pitch.
Very spacious tent with plenty of room for couples with lots of storage, tall people (My boyfriend had to lift me up so we could plug the lights into the hook) or families.
Tent stood up to heavy winds and rain and not one sign of any water entering the tent. Superb tent. Would highly recommend.

I know I bang on about this tent but even so, have just bought a smallish one for when I go camping alone or can't have a large enough pitch. Took both tents to Wales this week so I could decide when I got there. There was so much wind and rain that it had to be the Prism. It did not let me down in any respect throughout 3 nights and four days of incessant rain. Masses of space for when you have to spend long periods inside, not one drop of water got in, could go for a day out leaving it to stand in howling wind confident that it would not blow down whilst I was away from it. I would give this tent more than 10 out of 10 if I could. If you go camping in bad weather then this is one of the few large tents you can have.

I just love this Tent. Rain & Wind can't touch it, I've been on many camping trips and seen all the tents blown down but the Prism stayed up. I've sent an Email to the manufactures to put this back in production because it will bring joy to many campers if they could own one. The design is like a stealth jet fighter which I think owns to it strength and rigidity, no right angles so the wind just deflects away. Such an easy to erect and fun tent!

I bought this tent on a whim after falling in love with its quirky looks, (I think it looks a bit like darth vadars helmet so of course i'm going to like it!) Any way the space in the tent is enormous and for headroom its unbeatable so when coming to put the thing up I was slightly aprehensive (I have to do it on my own, my wife refuses to help and my 15 month old is of little assistance either!) But it is soooo easy, I'm under six foot (not saying how much) but I put up the tallest tent I've ever seen by myself with admiring glances rather than laughter from onlookers. It got even better when the wind blew, whilst tents all around where struggling and swaying my Prism stood solid without moving. There are always down sides to everything and this is no exception, you do lose space with the sloping walls, but its light and airy and I love it!
