As a camping virgin this is the first tent i've owned and must say its absolutely fantastic. I bought it for £269 from Great Outdoors and its the best money I've spent in a while.

It pitches very easily with two people in about 30 mins, getting the pins in can be a little tricky but just get one person to slightly lift the material and problem solved.

We recently camped in the Lake District and the tent withstood all the elements thrown at it and due to the steel poles was very sturdy in the wind.

The living area is very large with ample space for storage, the bedrooms equally are a good size. The front porch area is an added bonus as provides a sheltered cooking area and we also screened it off with two windbreakers to make a secure area for our dog to go off lead.

As on added bonus many of the children at the site commented on our fab/ace tent!

What a great 5 berth tent, just came back from our 1st camping trip.It took my husband and I about 45 mins with a little help from our son's holding the poles as we put in the pin's before pining down, very tricky in windy and rainy condition's but managed it in the end.

Good size bedroom and living space for the 5 of us,on our first night very, very windy a little worried but no need to be, a good tunnel frame tent, no leaks either.Very light and airy tent, we got it from Somerset camping for a amazing price £220 rrp £400,what a bargain, has a good size porch as well to either cook or sit in.

Everybody liked the look of it to as it is a very nice looking tent.

We LOVE this tent!

Our previous tent was a vango diablo, which was fine, but this one is easier to put up, feels much sturdier and is definitely a much more sociable tent!

We couldn't see anyone from the living area of the diablo - and if you really want to be unsociable you can always hide in the bedroom!

The height is great as well - no more whingeing from hubby about his bad back.

Bought this tent 2009, not sure when manufactured it was a display tent. Lovely tent plenty of room very sociable tent. You can stand up in bedrooms. 3 door access depending on wind direction. Just been camping over Easter week, very wet and windy, not the slightest leak, stood up to elements extremely well. Would certainly purchase another of these type of tents excellent.

Just bought this tent in April 2009 after many days of research as I want a tent that is durable, good looking, comfortable, sociable & affordable.

The tent did not disappoint me (used it twice already since April). I love this tent. The living space is massive & bedroom pods are huge. The porch is an added bonus.

It's a head turner as well. 2 family friend have purchased the Vail 500 after they've seen ours.

Great tent, plenty of space and entirely waterproof in my experience. Ideally need three people to put it up we found, although the DVD provided with it show 2 can manage - maybe once you've got the hang of it.

Very impressed with the size - at night we brought in three chairs, a table and camping stove and there was still loads of room for bags, freezer boxes etc and the awning was great for cooking breakfast.

I would definitely recommend.

We absolutely love this tent, bought it because we needed a rigid tent that was spacious and practical. This fits the bill. Though it is only for 2 of us, you need to be comfortable inside when the weather is bad. We have had several compliments on the tent and people saying they would like to buy it. Performance wise it takes everything the British weather can throw at it, straightforward to put up and just looks a really nice tent.

Fantastic. Years ago owned a trailer tent, but sold it as kids grew up. Now, it's just us 2, we bought this one in the sale, not as easy to put up as trailer tent, but almost as much room,it's so big inside, we've even taken the grandchildren, who loved the space, plenty of room if raining to play, and draft free and due to sewn in ground sheets no way can any rain get in. Has stood many a storm.

Superb tent!

Bought mine second-hand a few days ago for £100 and used it at the week-end! We had lots of rain/wind but it performed brilliantly - no leaks. However when we took it down one of the fibreglass roof poles split. Can get it repaired from Brian Park Camping at Chattisham in Ipswich for about £15.00.

Just the right size for 2 adults & 2 children.

Very pleased with our purchase!

I bought my Vail secondhand and just used it for the 1st time this weekend 25th sep 09 to 28th. Very easy to erect and loved the space it afforded. Only niggle is the flaps at the bottom of the doors are a bit flappy and had to use pegs to secure them and make it draft proof. All in all a great tent and this is the 3rd vango tent ive owned and will likely to be the last.
