Fantastic Tent.
We have just returned from a very wet weekend in the Ribble Valley but this tent is the best we have owned.
Totally dry and a doddle to put up.
It took me and the wife no longer than 10 minutes on our first attempt. (this was due to the YouTube video we watched the night before and they did it in under 4 minutes. Putting away was no bother either.
The tent is a ten birth with bedrooms either side in a 3/2 at each end combination. We are a family of 4 so we only put up one end and our room was huge. A double mattress and still about 6'x4' space to dress etc.
The quality of the workmanship puts this tent way ahead of the previous other makes we have owned and I am sure it will last us years. We bought the porch to go with it but as we were only there 2 days we didn't bother putting it up. (we regret we didn't as the rain and mud was biblical) Over all this is a very big good quality tent and my only slight concern is it is very heavy but I will still give it 10 out of 10.

This is our fourth tent and we have used it for three holidays now it has taken everything that the Lakes, Dales and Northumberland could throw at it without any problems. It takes us about 1-1.5 hrs to put up with the porch. But is very spacious and has loads of room both headroom and room to eat/sleep. The only niggle we had was that water ran off the top of the tent and inside when you opened the door but the porch seems to have solved this for us and on the new model it now has a small canopy to stop this. Would definitely recommend this tent to anyone who wants a bit of space when they go camping , depending on how many there are of you ( there are four of us in a ten man tent!)but make sure you have plenty of room to transport it ( we now own a trailer).

Hi people I have just bought a Meridian 10. We are planning on going away in it soon, I thought I would ask what all the experienced campers think I should buy to help our life in a ten be a little better or more comfortable.I see some people have been talking about a porch where is a good place to buy one and at a good price, also whats the footprint ground sheet and again where is a good place to get one. Please send me and suggestions that you think I should do or I should by to make life that little better while camping.
Many thanks People

This tent is fantastic! We are a family of 6 (2 adults, 4 kids) who have been camping for many years. We bought our Beyond Meridian 10 in August 2010 as we wanted a larger tent with more living space. We have been delighted with it! As other reviewers have noted, even with the bedrooms in, there is masses of living space - we have had 11 adults sat in large camping chairs, plus a table in the centre section of the tent with plenty of room to spare. This is ideal when it's raining or cold and you need to be inside. We have a corvus 6+2 porch that goes on the front as well - I would say that this is an essential piece of kit - if you don't have a porch or canopy then rain will pour straight into your tent as soon as you unzip the door! The porch also gives us loads of space to store cooking equipment, etc. The tent is very easy to put up - only 5 poles to be inserted and then guy-ropes to peg out. You will need at least 2 people though, simply because of the sheer size of the tent! We have camped in pouring rain and high winds and the tent has withstood it all admirably. I highly recommend the footprint groundsheet too - firstly because it allows you to figure out how much space your tent is going to take up on your pitch BEFORE you actually pitch the tent, and secondly because it keeps the tent groundsheet clean and dry. You will truly appreciate this when you are packing away a tent in the rain and the mud! You can then pack the dirty footprint separately and simply hose it off when you get home - genius! This is definitely the best tent we've ever come across and we would highly recommend it. The only thing you should bear in mind is that it is a very large tent - over 7m long and 6m wide if you add the porch - and this reduces your choice of campsites, as not every site will accept a tent that large. Other than that, it's perfect!

We brought this tent for our summer holiday this year. My husband is 6ft 6' tall and easily stood in the bedrooms as well as the main living area - one of our criteria. The tent actually ticked all the boxes for us, sewn in ground sheet, good size living area where we could sit around a table and play games during wet days, largest bedroom area of any tent we've seen with room to stand and move around in it. The tent fitted onto pitch well leaving more space than we had with previous tents and it stood up to one on the massive French thunderstorms! Only draw back was the triple zip on the main door which meant it could take a time to get out the tent at night when it was dark. Would highly recommend this tent - we have been camping for 8 years and been through 3 tents - this is the one for us!

This is the first tent we bought after deciding to try camping again after a bad experience in a tiny two man tent. This tent is brilliant. We are a family of four, two adults, two children and a dog. I first I was worried that a ten man would be too big, but it is perfect for us. We use one inner pod as a big room for us all to sleep in together, with the option of zipping it into two separate rooms if needed. We use the other inner pod to store clothes, food etc, and as a playroom for the children. It works really well, even on our lovely rainy summer days there is plenty of space for the children to play.
We have used this tent for two seasons now, and have camped in strong winds and heavy rain with no problems at all. The sewn in groundsheet is brilliant as it ensures you can stay nice and cosy inside whatever the weather.
We bought the footprint groundsheet and the carpet, which really makes the tent feel cosy and comfortable. We also added the Porch, which is great as a cooking and wet/muddy shoes area if the weather is not so good.
It is easy to put up and take down with two people, a little trickier if it is quite windy, but with the use of a few tent pegs it's not really a problem. We had trouble putting it back in the bag the first couple of times, but soon got the knack, and now it's no problem.
I would definitely recommend this tent as a great tent for family holidays.

I purchased my Gelert Boyond Meridian 10 last September off Ebay. It came with the footprint groundsheet and the porch, all for a £200 bargain!
We have only been away a few times in it so far. Once during the End of May Bank Holiday. We stayed just outside a wet and windy Aberystwyth. The tent was superb. We had us, 3 kids and one of our friends staying in our tent and there was still loads of room.
One tip for packing away is to leave the doors unzipped and then pushing the ground sheet velcro patches open. Then every time you fold it the air has a chance to escape. It took the 2 of us about 20mins to take down and successfully get it back into its bags.
Absolutely love this tent and we are heading to the South of France with it this summer.

My son purchased this tent over Mayday bank holiday 2011. The deal included footprint, carpet and porch. The first time out being Whitsun bank holiday in Somerset.
The first pitch had been in the garden just to check it out,the ground sheet had some marks in it that were presumably done in the factory. These marks would have let water, if it had got between the footprint and the ground sheet. The tent was duly replaced without argument.
Taking about an hour to put up (two adults) plus the porch another ten minutes. Over the three days we had a fair amount of wind and one day of showers with some being quite heavy. The rain only came in at the bottom of one of the zips facing into the wind.
The porch could have been placed closer to tent side but it would still have been about nine inches to a foot away from it so allowing rain into the porch through the gap down the side. Poor design!
Take a small dog at your peril as the ground sheet or the tent fabric could very easily be damaged by the dog trying to get out over the door lip.
Overall my son, his wife and children loved the light and airy feel of the tent and the wide open space inside. With its light weight and the carry bags it was very easy to take down and put away even in the rain.
I would like to see a carpet available to cover the floor area of the second bedroom if not used,(optional extra perhaps).
The velcro on the middle pole is surely for a light or an electric cable to be taken overhead rather than across the floor.

Just returned from our first trip with our brand new tent. It is, quite simply. FANTASTIC! It took one adult and two teenagers approximately 45 minutes to erect the first time, without encountering any problems whatsoever. We bought and used the footprint groundsheet which is a godsend when pitching and as a bonus, it keeps the tent's own groundsheet bone-dry.
The tent looks cavernous before the inner tents are up and even with them in place there is soooooo much living space. I am 6ft3 and this is the first time I have ever been able to stand upright in a tent - no more backaches!
The doors, windows and vents are all you could ask for - I really cannot find any faults with this tent. So many campers admired the tent and asked us about it, so clearly I am not the only person impressed!
Breaking camp was easy - the three of us did it in about 35 minutes. The tent comes in two storage bags; one for the outer and one for the inners and poles. The inners and poles bag is easily dealt with, but I defy anybody to get the outer into its bag and then fasten the zip fully. As a previous reviewer said, they must use vacuum packing at the factory! However this is inly a very minor niggle and takes nothing away from the tent's superb specification.
If you are thinking about a large family tent then you should have no hesitation whatsoever in picking the 2010 Meridian 10.

Bought this tent as a replacement for my 6 berth Cadiz and wish I had bought this first. Sewn in ground sheet is a god send. It is really spacious and really easy to put up. Did have a bit of a problem putting it back in the bag but managed eventually. Would recommend to anyone. Only draw back I could find is could do with better velcro on windows.
