Just had my first trip in my Atakama, where it got subjected to 40mph+ gusts.
Sadly this resulted in damaged poles and pole sleeves, though given the winds I am surprised it lasted as long as it did. And it was mainly the front that suffered all the damage. The main dome held up fairly well apart from one cracked pole section.
I bought my tent via ebay as a returned tent. It arrived minus it's dividing curtain, which I wasn't overly worried about as a sole camper. Plus I have my Rock 5 should I need the 2 rooms.
I did think my tent was just missing it's curtain, but having now looked at the tent design itself, and the Go Outdoors video and online ad I think differently.
Given the fact that no mention is made of a dividing curtain in the Go outdoors write up or video, I am wondering if they stopped including it. However if so, the attachment points still remain.
Now if there is indeed a dividing curtain, it does not offer ideal living conditions. This is due to there only being one bedroom door. So if you have people sleeping either side, you would have to disturb the opposite side to get in and out the door. That is unless the zip happened to be on your side of the curtain.
It is that design flaw, that makes me think given the no mentioning in adverts that the curtain is no more, as mentioned above. The attachment points do make good hanging points though.
I would hazard a guess the tent can easily sleep 2/3 adults. This obviously depends on how much stuff you have.
At 5ft 8 I can easily stand up in both the living area and bedroom. However the bedroom offers the most headroom given the tents shape.
The downside of the Atakama is it's lack of sewn in groundsheet. The sleeping pod provides the rear coverage, and the living area has a loose groundsheet that is attached to the bedroom.
This and the fact that the inner flooring is only attached to the floor by 4 pegs in the living area and bungees in the sleeping area, meant at times the wind could get underneath.
Though of course it is worth noting that my use was during a period of strong gusts of wind.
I like the fact the tent comes with poles for using the front door as a canopy. Something some tents only have as an 'add on'.
It has an eletric access point, which goes into the sleeping area. So is handy for fan heaters, or any other use you may have while in bed or in the pod.
And of course given the fact the living area is not sewn in, there is no need for a zipped access point for in there.
It has ample storage pockets, 5 in the sleeping area (1 single and 2 double), and two large pockets in the living area. In fact the two in the living area, were a nice surprise. I hadn't noticed them during my test pitches, and only discovered them during my recent trip.
In summary it is a good tent, if you are happy with the fact that the groundsheet is not sewn in, and you are not subjected to the wind I was. Either a good first tent, or like in my case, a good spare tent for using between those 'main tent' trips.

I really like this tent. Purchased due to good price and size and used for the last 2 years camping. It withstood the very bad British weather (heavy rain and wind) with no leaks.
The camp site when last used was a like a mud bath, the tent held up, but after a couple of days the groundsheet began to slip around and as it's not sewn in, we had to be careful what was coming in through the sides into the living area.
This tent has adequate room for two adults and a dog, one double and one single airbed plus equipment and luggage.
We have however just upgraded, purely for the reason of wanting a sewn in ground sheet.
This tent is perfect for first time/ couple camping.

I purchased this tent because it was big and cheap.
Cheap was important as I intended this to be a festival tent (i.E. Above average chance of it being trashed by drunk numpties) and big is important as I'm 6'6'.
I can put this tent up by myself in about 20 minutes. Once up it is very spacious and takes my 2.25m long airbed with ease and I can just about stand upright inside it (a great boon when getting dressed in the morning). On one wet & windy afternoon we managed to get eight of us into the porch/living area (four sitting on camping chairs, two sitting on three legged camping stools and two sitting on cases of beer).
So far it has survived three festivals this year but perhaps its first outing shows the qualities of this tent - five nights, torrential rain for the first two days and winds gusting up to 70MPH on the second day. When many other tents were failing this stayed dry and secure, in the high winds there was a bit of flex in the sides of tent but nothing untoward.
Given the low price of this tent I do not expect it to last forever but so far it is showing no signs of wear and tear.
I think this is a great tent for the price, if you are tall, on a budget and fed up of being cramped I'd recommend taking a look at this tent.

Just used my new Atakama for my first trip by myself with the kids. We bought it as our small tent for 1 night here or there with all 4 of us or just me and the kids.
With the kids help the tent was up in 20 mins which was great. The only thing was that some of the hooks on the inner had come off because the elastic hoops had come undone. Easily solved, just pegged the cloth hoops done instead.
I added the Vango Sun Canopy on the front so I didn't get wet when cooking but even with out it there was plenty of 'living' space.
I think trying to sleep 5 in the Atakama would be a little too snug for my liking but for a couple of nights with the 4 of us it would be fine.
The price was one of the major reasons I bought this tent, Go Outdoors had by far the best price and the delivery was very quick. We ordered it on a Thursday evening and it had arrived by Saturday morning.
Great smallish tent, easy to put up and comfortable head room.

Bought this tent on the spur of the moment for a family camping trip. In store price at the time was £99 however I checked the website and online price was £84.99. I mentioned this to staff and they were more than happy to match the online price.
2 adults, a teenager and one year old used this for 2 nights camping. Relatively straightforward to put up despite very windy conditions. However after getting the tent up noticed the roof had a large hole in it. Used the repair kit but disappointing to buy a tent in this condition.
A good size for the 4 of us, I'm over 6 ft tall and was more than comfortable in both areas of the tent and could fit a double airbed, baby inflatable bed and camping mat in the bedroom nicely. Kept us warm in very windy conditions in an exposed field and no issues with condensation which others have mentioned.
Only other fault I could pick are the flimsy ties on the zips, numerous ones coming loose and disappearing after 1 or 2 uses.
Just about managed to get the tent back in the bag after taking it down, only for the zip on the bag to break.
I have since returned this tent, simply due to the hole in the roof, expect a bit more quality for my money. Staff at Go Outdoors(Newcastle) were great with the return, in the first instance offered a replacement but I asked for a refund which they did so without problem. Cannot fault the customer service, just wish the tent could have matched it!

We bought this in the sale for £70 and with that in mind, its a good buy. The tent is a good size and easy to put up. Like other reviewers, we had a leak in torrential rain. The water pooled around the top of the door and eventually found its way through the zip. I think a liberal spray with waterproofer will sort this out.

First Time Camping for my wife and I and our three kids 10,6 and 3.
The tent went up easy enough, even in the wind and rain ! Around 20 mins with 2 adults. The tent also came down pretty easily and it all fits into the holdall with ease !
The Sleeping area fits two double air beds side by side no problem. There is a curtain available for separate compartments however, our tent had that missing.
The Living Area is far too small for 5 ! probably 3 would be comfortable.
It rained a lot whilst we were away and the door area to side leaked ! also, no matter which way we tried we could not get the front door to sit taught.
The Ground sheet caused us a problem too, as when it rained the water just ran straight in ! Causing us to close peg the ground sheet to the door to avoid the wet.
For the money we paid we cant grumble but if you need it for 4/5 people look at a bigger tent ! And don't forget your clothes pegs !

Great family tent for the price, we already have a Gelert Lokon Vario 5, which is a good size, but we wanted something to be able to bung in the boot for the odd couple of days away with our 3 year old.
The sleeping compartment is plenty of space, and the front porch is big enough to get our 3 chairs in if its raining.
It has standing room in the bedroom so you can change your pants without being a contortionist.
I have chosen to remove the built-in ground sheet in the front section of the tent, we prefer the feel of grass under our feet. The bedroom ground sheet keeps us dry in all weathers.
Just taken it out again for the firs time this year, and found a drippy condensation thing happening in the porch? on night two I re-arranged some ropes to get a bit more tension in the front, and left the vent open and that seemed to help.
For the price, this is a great tent, 3 poles reasonably simple to get up. Not too heavy. .And plenty of useable space. Great medium sized tent.

We bought one last year (i think) as we have a larger tent for when we camp for a week as we like lots of room (only 2 adults and a child).
We bought it when on offer at go outdoors and I think it was only £29 and we where looking for a smaller tent for when we camp at weekends.
The tent was very easy to put up and plenty of room in the sleeping end.
While the living space was also roomy but it doesn't have a sewn in ground sheet so we did have visitors one night and some water did come in when it rained.
This tent is great for people who don't have much room in the car and is great for up to 4 people but we feel that 5 would be a squash

Bought this tent on a trip to go outdoors having gone for completely different things, and with absolutely no intention whatsoever of buying a tent. We live on a narrow boat and went for completely different gear. Anyway, we came home with a tent we hadn't seen put up, a mattress, 2 sleeping bags and various other 'cant manage without' items. New Years day was spend dodging the rain and putting up said tent having reliably told everyone in the pub the night before that we were going to a certified (mad) location next day. Well, we didn't go but only spent 1 hour putting the tent up. We were amazed by the size, which is odd, because it clearly displays this information on the bag.But we had seen it erected! Easy to put up for 2 novices, and easy to collapse and put back in 't bag. Trip planned for 3 weeks time to a different certified (mad) location, cos we forgot to phone and cancel the one we booked yesterday!

Manufacturer's Description
With large living /storage and sleeping areas, the Atakama 5 is ideal for families having a long weekend away, or any groups of campers who may need space to store gear and spread around.
It is a double skin tent, with the outer pitched first to keep things simple, and a breathable inner to keep you comfortable.
The outer flysheet is 190T PU coated polyester with taped seams and a hydrostatic head of 3000, meaning it's rugged enough to handle scrapes and waterproof enough to take the heaviest downpours.
For warmer conditions, the breathable inner and large side and front doors will make sure the inside is ventilated enough so you and your kit are not overheating. The front door can be extended out as a canopy using the steel porch poles, offering shelter from sun or showers.
The porch/living area has a pre-attached groundsheet, making it easy for you to keep a clear, clean space for furniture, bikes etc., and keeping the bedroom area draught-free.
For extra stability, the tent has pre-attached double guylines, so it will easily withstand any strong gusts of wind. The guylines themselves are bright and reflective, to help you to find the tent in the dark, and to stop other campers from tripping over them if you're in a busy campsite.
Other useful features include slick pole sleeves to aid pitching, fire-retardant fabrics, and large windows to allow maximum light in if you need it.
