My 2 person pitching guide for Corado 6.

1/Feed curved poles through tent and leave legs off to keep the weight down.

2/ Peg tent back corners

3/ Add legs to back frame, erect and peg top middle guy rope so frame stands up.

4/ Add legs to next frame, erect and fix hoops.

5/ Repeat no.4

We tried the GoOutdoors method but found it was too heavy for mrs to drag five frames out. So we had to reduce the weight, get help or change the tent. So we came up with this method and it worked a treat.

I've only tried the tent on my garden and can't really fault it, I've read a lot about the problems with the door not zipping up and a problem with the the flap at the bottom, these seemed to be cured now the door now zips all the way round so there's no drafts or unwanted insects getting in or dogs and 3 year olds getting out.

The tent up easily enough, about 40 mins. If I was to find any fault it would the weight of the poles there really heavy but I suppose in strong winds they will prove there worth. There's loads of room in the tent and the bedrooms are massive the porch at the front will be great for cooking under and when the rain falls it will come in handy.

Can't wait for Easter.

I bought this tent for a week long holiday in pooley bridge - lake district. There is only my 7 year old son & I but I had friends coming too so went for a large tent & we had just gone back to tents from caravans.

It had plenty of space - certainly too much for us, even when all the kids were inside it was too big for our needs.

Put up in 20 minutes with 3 of us the first time. Packed away with a struggle in the rain though.

Was warm enough but did leak at some seams & the door gap wasn't good. Didn't have a problem with the zip on door as zipped it up

Before erecting.

The extra canopy meant that we had tons of stuff outside & plenty of room. Had the picnic table & 4 chairs out there plus folding chairs, fridge, cooker stand & all the food & drinks.

I've sold it now but liked the design so

Will be searching for a similar layout but smaller. Corado 4 is still too big for us.

2011 version. We picked this up from Gloucester GoOutdoors actually exchanged it for a Kalahari8. Not sure what has been updated on this model but it does have a full zip to the front door and no problem with the width of the door \ zip action as on the other reviews here. We had a mixture of weather this weekend and the tent performed well. Very pleased. Only problem is erecting the tent with Mrs is a 'struggle' and 'needs a bit of perfecting'. We found packing it away in the bag without the inner tent was easy enough and the inner went in with the poles. So for a first time out cant complain at all, really pleased :-)

Fantastic tent. We have been on 2holidays now in ours. 1st time for a week and 2nd time for 2weeks. During our holidays we have experience pretty much every weather and our tent stood up 2it extremely well. We had high winds, floods and storms as well as sun etc. I could praise the tent enough 4 durability, size and comfort. We also own the carpet and extra canopy. We have had many people comment on how impressive our tent looks.

Only negatives we can find are the front door is tight 2close but is manageable with some faffing about. Also we bough some more velcro 2keep window shutters from falling down. Not a big problem really. We would definitely recommend this tent.

This tent is excellent. Extremely roomy and great for tall people like my husband. I wont repeat past points but we haven't found any problems with the front door but have found that one of the back window seals leaked slightly when we had a heavy down pour. The only two annoying things about this tent are the following

1. The window flaps are secured by velcro on the tops of the windows. We found that the velcro would have been better on the bottom as the weight can pull them down.

2. The porch has nothing to hook anything on eg, some tents have little hooks built in for a washing line. This tent has nothing for this. And we found that on rainy days we had no where to hang towels.

All in all only slightly annoying on a few trivial points. But the benefits (stated in the other reviews) far out weigh them.

Love this tent so roomy for the family would of give it 10 out of 10 but the door is bad design really tight to close unless you unclip the sides and had to add velcro to the bottom of the door to stop it blowing up. On our latest camping trip this tent stood up to high winds and heavy rain so we are very pleased with it

We loved this tent loads of room brought the carpet

Fly sheet and wind breakers to match but leaked on a lot of window seams. Also had problems with main door zip under a lot of pressure to close, very poor finish at base of door, could do with velcro maybe. However go out doors were great, changed every item upon return from holiday. Great tent

Here we go another tent another review. I saw this tent on offer at go outdoors so I checked the reviews on here and I was quite impressed not only by the reviews but also by the offer price.

Good points. Very roomy, Well ventilated, Sturdy when pitched, Easy to erect (now camping alone), Useful canopy. All in all a very good tent.

Bad points. As mentioned in the other reviews there is an issue with the front door if pitched properly the door is virtually impossible to zip up and the lack of fastening at the bottom does make it draughty, that said the advice given on both counts is sound and works.

Being a practical kind of bloke during my recent stay in the tent I considered now to improve the front door situation and came up with the following. Add some tape to the fixing points for the leg clips (after removing the clips) and then refix the clips giving yourself approximately an extra inch on the lower three clips on both sides making sure you stitch them well.

As for the gap at the bottom the velcro idea is the answer. The above details are the only reason the tent missed out on a 10/10

I feel I must update this review due to some of the comments made in the forums.

During my stay at Cae Du over the royal wedding weekend and the following week the site and its inhabitants were subjected to a gale with winds hitting 55mph. While many so called premium or better quality tents were damaged or even destroyed my corado and at least one other Hi Gear tent survived undamaged as did a few other so called cheaper or inferior tents.

The Hi Gear range is made by one of the 'better' manufacturers for exclusive sale by Go Outdoors and the quality of the materials and manufacturing process have to adhere to the same standards as the other products made by this company.

So basically if you choose a Hi Gear tent you are not buying an inferior product you are buying a quality product at a lower price.

Good points - large and spacious living area. Good sized porch, especially if used with porch extension. This stood up to high winds and rain without leakage or damage. Very cosy with the carpet.

Bad points / poor design faults.

Main doorway - when I bought a tent with attached ground sheet and carpet I expected it to be all sealed from the elements and insects when all doors are shut. This is NOT the case. It wouldn't leak but it does leave a huge gap at the bottom of the door to blow in the wind and let in insects. The ground sheet in the doorway flaps down in the daytime so you don't have to step over it, and at night it lifts up and fastens to the side of the door with toggles, but it doesn't fasten to the bottom of the door. Even if you added extra velcro it wouldn't completely seal from insects during the night.

Window coverings - you would expect these to hang from the top of the window like any other proven curtain design. But NO these hang upwards from underneath the window and only stay up with a small square of velcro on each corner which doesn't work well and they keep dropping down. Ideally these would be better held up with toggles or hung from the top of the window!

I also had trouble closing the door as it had been pitched with it open. I had to loosen the guide ropes and unclip the tent from the poles at the doorway. Next time I will pitch the tent with the door shut and hopefully this will prevent this being pulled too tight.
