Wow fantastic tent, very easy to put up and down.
Very spacious, even with all our junk inside.
Held up and no damage in 50 mile gale wind and rain.
Easily fits a double airbed in each sleeping pod, and living area is great , with the added bonus of a large porch area to cook in, and to leave all muddy boots and shoes, looking forward to many years of camping in this tent, FANTASTIC, well done Outwell.

Great tent for families who camp a few times per year.
Love that it is sewn in and has handy front porch area for cooking and muddy shoes.
Very roomy living space and lots of windows to let in the light. Handy back door option too or can use that space to add another sleeping area which is purchased separately.

Great tent easy to put up, lots of space inside and plenty of room when you have two teenage boys lounging around.Stood up to the weather (no leaks. We do need a little more practice putting the tent down (we did get it into the bag it came in)'JUST'.But like most things practice make perfect.Looking forward to our next adventure with this tent A++++

Just returned from 4 nights in the beloved and now quite aged Hartford L that has been up and down perhaps 30 times in the last 8 or 9 years - a little damp leakage in very heavy rain but nothing a bit of fabsil shouldn't deal with. The porch area is too short (have the extension to sort that) and never sleep in the pods, always kip in the main area - no problems worth bleating about and hopefully many years left in it yet

How disappointed are we? After much research - both the online variety and the talking to friends variety - we settled on the Hartford L as a replacement to my 12 year old 3-man dome tent that has been up and down more times than a yo-yo and leaks worse than a sieve.
We came across the Hartford L in an end-of-year sale in Blacks for half price. Bargain. Except that we did not have time to put the tent up in October when we bought it as we were getting married the next week and had more important things to think of. Big mistake.
We tested the tent this year, a few days before we were due to go out to Cornwall, only to realise it has no poles in the bag! Blacks have been great but Outwell has been exceedingly unhelpful.Refusing to even reply to Blacks' telephone queries and hence the 1 star for the review. I know that mistakes happen but companies need to sort them out.
Assuming Outwell sorts the issue out without me having to go down the route of 'fitness for purpose' and you 'ruined my holiday' I will be glad to post a more comprehensive review of this tent. As it is, I can only comment on the service. 1 star.

I cant rave about this tent enough. We purchased it last year and have had had 1 trip in it. We had a big down pour and all the seams held up well also was fantastic with the wind. Really easy to put up only took around 15mins.The living area and sleeping pods are huge and the attached porch is more than big enough to cook in. There are lots of windows which makes it feel even bigger (if thats possible!) The tent packs away really well and still fits into its bag! If your looking to upgrade your equipment I would definitely recommend this tent my only word of advice is to check pitch sizes before booking with this tent as it is rather large and some sites want you to pay for 2 pitches

Upgraded this year to the Hartford L after a lot of deliberation and investigation. Previously owned a random 3 man dome tent which served the wife and I for the odd weekend away (even in the depths of February!) for several years but thought we'd start getting our kids involved and so needed extra room.
*We love this tent*
The only issue I found was the entrance zips can be a little awkward as you have to bend right down to open them or close them fully. But I found that by allowing the wife to 'go first', I could easily alleviate that issue and as a bonus, enjoy the view provided :0)
Windows, pockets, plenty of space, quality craftsmanship and design, more windows and pockets, air vents, colour-co-ordinated poles for easy erection .Just awesome ingenuity and an all round excellent tent.
If your looking for a great quality family tent that will last and look after you more than you look after it.Then buy Outwell.
The Hartford L is a robust tent that we've now used in various weathers and has kept us relatively warm and very dry. This tent has it all.

Decided to upgrade our tent this year and we settled on the Hartford L and so far we have no regrets because this is a great tent.
It's first outing was in Norfolk this August and my wife and I found it very easy to put up and not a cross word was said, which is unusual to say the least.
The living space is very roomy and you have the option to have plenty of light. The porch area is great for cooking if the weather is bad and also for storage leaving more room in the main living area.
We found that the tent was very warm in the evening when it was fully closed down and it withstood heavy wind and rain without any problems.
We are very pleased with our choice of tent and would recommend it as a good quality buy.

I love our Hartford L. Each time we camp I have a nose at other people's, but just can't see anything which offers everything we have on a similar level. I would not be without the sewn in groundsheet (EVER!)
I (mum) camp with our two girls (now 5 and 7). I have read other reviews, and yes you do sort of need 2 people to put tent up. However, my daughter has been doing the 'inside lifting bit' since she was 6 1/2, and you only need her for about 2mins while you put the poles in, and again for a couple of mins to walk the other side of the flysheet over the dome. I put it up on my own(ish) in about 25mins from start to finish.
The only fault I can find with the tent is that you can't really safely cook in it. The family area is large enough for a table and chairs, if the weather is against you, and the pods comfortably sleep two adults (like other reviewers I think 3 in each pod could be 'interesting'!). Would definitely recommend it.

Excellent Tent. First camping trip in it last week. Put it up in 45 mins (after only one practice).
The first night we survived 7 hours of heavy rain without any water coming in at all. The tent stood up to a week of wet and windy weather with no leaks.
The inner living space is huge and the sleeping pods are perfect for a family of 4. Not sure I'd like to sleep 6 in it but it could be done.
The porch entrance was a god send and allowed us to keep the main tent dry despite the weather and provided shelter for cooking.

A size down from sister model XL, the Hartford L nevertheless sleeps up to six and keeps its two pre-attached bedrooms to either side of the spacious living room area with Sealed-in Groundsheet.
