We bought this Vango Orchy 600 for our 1st ever camping trip .Was easy to put up and down we have the carpet and ground sheet and canopy ! .It was very windy 30mph and wet but no leaks !Plenty of room inside the tent for our camp kitchen and our pic nic table. The sleeper part is very good to double air beds in there easily and still room for our clothes would recommend this tent to anybody just starting out or experienced campers.

I love my Vango Orchy 600 tent. There is so much space and it is really easy to put up. There is an electric hook up zip. There is a lot of bedroom space however I think it would fit 5 rather than 6 people. Because of the shape of the tent there is good headroom in the living area. There are additions that you can get for the tent i.E. Footprint groundsheet, carpet and canopy either an open canopy or a tent extension. I would highly recommend this tent.

We love this tent. We camped in it last year as a couple and this year with our four month old baby. The sleeping area felt really spacious this year even with the addition of travel cot and baby clothes & equipment, alongside our double lilo. The living area also feels very large - we had seven adults eating round a table in the evenings. We used EHU this time round - there is a handy velcroed opening for the cable which we hadn't even noticed previously! We had quite high winds a couple of days but the tent withstood it excellently, I guess due to the dome, rather than tunnel, construction. It feels quite easy to put up and down - the first time we erected it, we only realised where the instructions were AFTER it was up, so it must be fairly self explanatory. (They're sewn into the bag, not that hard to find really.)
We would definitely recommend this tent.

This is a really good family tent. There is plenty of room in the living area to stand up and lots of light from the windows in the roof. We had two double airbeds in the bedroom and it did not feel cramped but you could not fit another in. I would say it sleeps four in comfort but would not like to have six in there.
It is easy to put up and I would recommend purchasing the footprint in order to keep the sewn in groundsheet clean.
We had heavy rain one day but the tent did not leak at all and also performed well in the wind when pegged out with all the guy ropes. Ventilation is good and I did not notice any condensation over three days.
Overall very good tent for the money.

This is the first tent I have ever owned and it is fantastic. We bought this tent because of the excellent height of the living area and space it provides. Having never owned a tent before, pitching was a breeze and only took us around 30 mins to put up. It provides plenty of light, lots of space. I really can't fault it. I think we should get lots of use as the quality seems very high too.

Love this tent, easy to pitch and strike, massive living area and loads of natural light if you want it and none when you don't.
Used it a few times now, getting it upright is remarkably quick (useful in bad weather), although there are a good few guy lines and additional pegs to peg out for a really strong pitch.
Bedroom is fairly cosy with our airbeds in (1x double, 2x single) but that means it's lovely and cosy at night!
Living area is much more spacious and as it's where you spent more of your time camping I reckon the balance is spot on. We don't travel light (camp kitchen, stove, cooler, tables & chairs) but don't have any problem getting our stuff in when the weather won't play ball.
My top tip is to invest in the Vango groundsheet to go under the tent. Not only will it keep the sewn-in groundsheet dry and away from sharp things, it also functions as a simple template of how much space on the ground your tent will take up.
Happy camping!

I have recently just bought this tent for £184 from singers and put it up in the garden to try it out as soon as it got here.
I must say so far I like this tent, perfect if not to big for one. It rained slightly while putting it up, and for the first time I didn't do too bad. I have had the Lauren colour as I thought it was the better colour out the two.
I have only given it 8 stars so far because as I say I have only just had it and not tested it properly yet. We have had some wind but no problems so far.
All in all it seems a good tent for the money.

I bought this a few weeks ago based on the reviews I saw featured here. I was looking for a family tent (2 adults 3 children), not too expensive, and suitable for one person to erect. I used to camp many years ago, but I am just trying to get back into it and introducing my children to the delights. I bought it online for £184 including delivery.
When it arrived I set it up in the garden, and it was only then I realised just how big it is! I am pleased I took the time to do this because the instructions were a little vague and it took about 45 minutes to do. However, once done it is very clear how it all goes together. I noticed that in the reviews of the 2009 version a DVD describing how to put the tent up is included, but it isn't in this 2010 version.
I tried the tent for real last weekend for a single night in Coniston, accompanied by my 8 and 6 year olds. The tent went up well, with a little 'help' from my children. The two compartments comfortably accommodated the double airbeds and there was tonnes of room for all our gear in the living area.
My only gripe is the packing away. Getting the tent wrapped up so tightly to fit back in the compact bag defeats me!On both occasions it took me a good 20 minutes to fold, squash and squeeze. I am sure there is a knack to it so if anyone can enlighten me that would be great.
Obviously I have not yet spent a wet windy night in the tent, but based on previous reviews I am feeling hopeful. It looks good, it is certainly big enough, it is relatively inexpensive, and I was able to put it up virtually single-handedly - putting it away is another issue!

Just returned from our first trip in our new Vango Orchy 600. Practised pitching in the garden before 1st trip, but only took us 20 minutes. There's colour-coded poles, so really easy to do.
There's just the 2 of us so loads of room in the bedroom pod, kept the mattress on one side and bags on the other. Lots of room in the living area. Plenty of head height and fits a table and chairs easily. Only had some light rain one night so can't really comment on how it performs in windy conditions, which is why only given 8 out of 10, but had no leaks and no condensation issues. I really like the windows in the roof they let lots of light in, plus we have the 'blue' version so never feels too dark.
Vango extension and porch poles on the 'to buy' list.
Very happy and would recommend.

Having read the reviews, I recently bought an Orchy 600 for our family of four. It was just big enough width wise, for four airbeds (or two doubles) so would not recommend as 6 person tent. Having used it for the first time this weekend in Scotland, am generally pleased with it. We had pretty persistent rain and not a drop in the tent, although a porch would have been very handy. Have only rated it 7 out of 10 as still to prove itself in windy conditions but generally it seems stable, easy to put up and down and the living area is certainly big enough if your stuck in.
In terms of value for money I thought this was a great tent for folks like us going camping with our children for the first time. I could have picked up a 2009 model cheaper but plumped for the 2010 model based on the reviews that mention a slump at the front door. Comparing ours with older models on the campsite, it was better, no slump at front door (so no rain collecting) and probably better stability too. Get the 2010 if you can.
