User Reviews of the Quebec 6
By: Matthew3791 Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2009 Rating: Date: 30/01/2010
My review of this tent is coloured by the fact that both the ridge poles broken in the first (and only) season - however, if that hadn't happened, it would have been a great tent.
Height throughout the tent is very good. Bedrooms are spacious and can be installed at either end (interchangeable to suit your needs). The pull up/let down threshold flab on the swen in ground sheet is a nice touch - avoids kids tripping over all the time!
It's a nice slim design so doesn't feel too big on most pitches (unlike our 2005 Hartford XL!). A doddle to pack away, three folds and then roll - brilliant! Tent bag is too heavy to carry with pole bag inside, so we carried pole bag from car separately. Ventilation is good. Bit annoying in the morning to have to go outside to open the privacy screens on the windows, but if you do that on the way to/from the loo when you're out anyway I guess it's not too bad.
It's a great tent and we were delighted with it BUT we used it for a weekend in Snowdonia and were a bit concerned that the fibreglass ridge poles were deforming (the roof is a three section fibre pole which fits into sturdy steels on the sides).
After putting up three weeks later for the first stay of a three week, three site holiday in calm weather in France we were very worried about the ridgepoles. We nursed it through the 2nd site and they both failed whilst the tent was being erected on the 3rd site (only 4th time used).
We are experienced campers with plenty of experience of erecting small and larger tents - it is a design fault that means the fabric pulls too tightly over the join between the stell uprights and the fibre poles, this causes the steel socket to bite into the end of the fibre pole, causing it to bend, crease and eventually snap - tearing the fabric.
On the plus side - we called outdoorkit.Co.Uk upon our return to the UK. They were more than happy to send a courier for the tent so they could examine it. Courier came the next day and 24 hours later, they agree a full refund.

Firstly can I say that I am a complete novice when it comes to erecting tents. My sister helped me erect my Kyam Quebec 6 in my back garden today, once we got the hang of the instructions it was fairly straight forward. The tent is very sturdy as it has steel poles and fibre glass roof poles holding it up. I like the low level bedroom windows but am a little confused as to why there are 2 holes with a drawstring attached on the floor of the sew in ground sheet? Any info greatly received. It is currently erected in my garden and is receiving a good soaking thanks to the British summertime weather. I have given it a 10/10 for now but will update my review when I’m a fully fledge camper and know the ins and outs of my Quebec 6.

This fantastic new invention turns a can of drink into a sealed bottle, protecting drinks from being spilt, keeping out creepy crawlies, and keeping fizz in. They are a must for any camper or caravanner.
