I bought the Voyager 6 as I wanted a tent with a bigger living area. I had had a Mojave previously and liked it, so had no doubts about trying another Hi Gear tent. It was very easy to put up and my sister and I managed to put the tent up quite quickly - even I was surprised! The space that we had in the tent was great and even in the heaviest rain, there were no leaks at all. We did cut our camping trip short due to high winds. The tent had blown in completely on one side, losing it's shape and leaving the double sleeping compartment unusable. One guy rope had ripped off the tent, however we were lucky as none of the poles had snapped. I am hoping that the guide rope can be repaired as I do like the tent and hope to use it again. In more sheltered sites!

Decided we wanted more room than a 4 berth tent and went looking in Go Outdoors for any special offers. This fitted the bill perfectly. Bought the carpet as well.

Used it for the first time last weekend.FANTASTIC. Extremely easy to put up. Even managed without a trial run, how good was that?

Loads of room inside. Weather was good, but could have coped with all sorts as more than enough space inside. Used side entrance for the cooking side, just opened the flaps and away we went. No moving stuff outside.

One of us is well over 6', and we could stand up easily, makes such a difference.

Removed the middle partition in the large bedroom section meaning we had a super double room; used the other section to store everything. Particularly liked the storage compartments, great for putting all those little bits & bobs.

An absolute bargain and we cannot wait to go camping again. Hoping for loads more weekends with good weather, although this tent is suitable for inclement weather, we are definitely good weather campers :-)

This is the first large family tent that we have owned.

We were very happy with it, it's got more than enough room for me, my husband and our daughter.

Took about 20 mins to erect, although the instructions aren't the best we are not new to camping so sort of knew what we were doing.

Had lots of rain and wind the first night and the tent didn't leak at all, plus the sewn in groundsheet kept all the wind out and made sure that we were always cosy.

Overall a really good tent, only marked it as a nine due to the instructions.

I had been trying to find a 2010 model for the last year and eventually got one off ebay (though we paid as much as when the 2011 model was on special offer!)We wanted the 2010 model as the bedrooms worked better for us as 2 adults and 2 children. We have just had our first trip away and the tent was great-it was easy to put up (though we did have a practise in our garden first which I fully recommend. The space is great, we had all our cooking stuff and table/stool set etc in the living compartment, large double and 2 singles in the bedroom with space for bags too!

Just wish it had a reasonably priced canopy to go with it, instead of a very expensive porch which is as expensive as the tent!

Fully recommend the tent - it was worth the wait!

After popping to Go Outdoors for a water carrier for our first camping trip we left with the Voyager 6. Although it was a impulse purchase, we did check online reviews and they seem fairly unanimous in their praise. We can now add our own positive feedback to these, as we have returned from a dramatically thundery weekend in North Norfolk dry and happy.

The living area is extremely generous (especially for 2 people), but still felt cosy. We also bought the purpose made carpet, which adds a homely feel and keeps the tent lovely and warm. A double airbed fits well in the larger of the clip in sleeping pods with room at either side for dressing etc. We used the smaller of the pods as a storage area, but we think the tent would definitely sleep 6 comfortably. The height of the tent made my 6ft boyfriend's weekend a lot easier than other models would have done.

The tent has large windows so feels light during the day, and the double inner provided by the sleeping pods add extra warmth and protection at night. It was easy to pitch with 2 of us, standing in 10 minutes with a bit of extra time for pegging the guylines etc and clipping in the pods. It proved very stable & leak proof through some trying weather conditions. Packing away in high wind was still quick and easy. We improvised an extra groundsheet as the footprint for the Voyager 6 has been hard to source, however we have now found one and look forward to trying it out on our next trip.

Fab first tent for us novice campers me, hubby and 3 yr old son! Did a dummy run in back garden and had it up in about 30 mins, instructions sewn into tent bag big help and straightforward.

Took it to Lakes for our first trip on a very hot weekend, again no problems and took us only about 20 mins this time.

LOADS of room in living area which is huge bonus, in fact we felt ours was really bare as we had our chairs etc outside! Bedroom pods great, we made two into one so we could all fit in and managed a double and single airbed running length of pod no problem and still with room to boot!

It did get very hot inside, even with vents, etc open but hey would rather that then wind and rain!

Easy to put away and get back into bag.

Overall, no negatives so far (however not tested yet in gales or lashing rain!) and for price on deal at go outdoor of £129 we are v happy campers indeed and cant wait for our second outing!

The wife and I took our tent to the lakes last week, the voyager 6 is a fantastic tent. The living space is huge plenty of room for tables and chairs. It went up very easy mind you putting it back in the bag took a few attempts so take a tip from me take notice when you unfold it it helps later. We also bought a footprint ,which is great because it keeps the sewn in ground sheet clean. I would recommend this tent to anyone.

Following excellent unbiased advice and service from the staff at the Newcastle branch of Go-outdoors, I decided to purchase this tent. I have never put a tent up before and had visions of opening the bag to find loads of loose poles and a set of instructions like that used in flat pack furniture. However, I needn’t have worried, the staff gave me a demonstration of how easy it was to put up, and they explained the different materials used in the manufacture, and their different properties. They also advised what spares to carry so in the event that any thing did happen we were armed with the tools to put it right and not ruin our first trip.

I could not believe the service you would think I was spending thousands of pounds not a couple of hundred. In fact, I have had worse service when buying a house.

It was time for a dummy run in the local park. Armed with my new found knowledge, (dangerous),and an excellent set of instructions, so simple, my 13 year old son read them and gave me and the wife a running commentary as we put the tent up. We had no problems at all, no stress, no arguing, no murders, nothing, I couldn’t believe it, the tent and sleeping pods were up in less than an hour, and that is by someone who has never even opened a tent bag before. I’m sure we could half that next time.

As for the tent it has loads of room inside, the built in ground sheet and the separate sleeping pods make it a comfortable home from home. The build quality appears to be as good as other more expensive tents I’ve looked at. It was red hot when erecting it but I noticed a nice breeze of cool air coming through the mesh air vents as I was putting pods in, this was very reassuring as I’ve read that it can get pretty hot inside modern synthetic tents.

Overall first impressions: I am delighted with my purchase and can’t wait to use it properly. We even managed to get it back in the bag without any fuss

We went to go outdoors, saw this tent bought it & went camping the same day! To say we have never put a tent up before and are new to camping it took us 30-40 mins with no effort no problems.

This tent is perfect for us and our 1year old as we can fit a double airbed & travel cot in the same bedroom. We use the other bedroom for storage but big enough for double airbed to.

Living area is extremely spacious plenty room for 2 chairs table and little ones to play. I recommend people to get the carpet it is fantastic for comfort & feels more like home from home. It was really warm when we went camping & full of fly so I'm happy we could keep cool & there is fly nets on all openings and air vents.

I cant really think of and down sides only that when you put tent up make sure the zips at bottom where electric wires can run through are closed properly as we had a tiny gap and a few unwanted bugs came in.

Overall fantastic

Well done voyager!

I first saw this tent while I was backpacking at a campsite in Wales, it was a really windy day and I decided to have a look round the family tents as I was planning to take my wife and 2 year son camping later in the year.

Out of all the big tents on the site their was one tent that stood out for me and that was the voyager 6, it seemed to be the most stable in the wind I also liked the very generous porch area (thats 2.2m high!).

3 months later go outdoors had a summer sale and I bought the tent at a bargain price!

Me and my family tried the tent out for a weekend last week, after a couple of practises in the garden me and my wife pitched the tent in no time without any stress even with an excitable 2 year old.

The tent itself has plenty of windows that let a lot of light into the porch area and you can close them all for privacy. There are ventilation points all over the tent that work well. The tent has 2 sleeping rooms one is a 4man (with a divider down the middle) and the other is a 2 man. We managed to get 2 double air beds in the 4 man room so the 3 of us had plenty of space and were very comfortable, we used the 2 man to store clothes and equipment.

We bought a footprint on the way back from our holiday and I wish I thought to buy one before we left so I'd recommend a footprint and maybe a carpet.

We love this tent and we cant wait to use it again.

Well done Hi Gear!
