6 Reviews of the Messina 400

Bought on the onset of divorce - haha - for me and my daughter. Used extensively over past 4 seasons. One small tear (my fault) easily and permanently sealed.
Sleeps 2 nicely with room for bags etc in the inner tent.
Pros:
Cheap, light, easy to pitch, compact when packed, waterproof.
Cons
Not quite standing headroom in living space, draughty as no groundsheet sewn into living area.

I recently bought this tent, ex-display having been set up outside for most of the summer at the camping supplies. Heavy rain overnight when we used it and it held up very well. A good gap between the inner tent and flysheet so less chance of them touching and letting water through.
I really like the fly sheet pitch first feature as I was able to get the outter tent sorted before getting the inner one out.
I had to buy a separate groundsheet for the living area but that wasn't expensive.
I was very pleased with this tent, far superior to the Leben tent I used before.

Ideal tent to try camping. Unbelievably good value(I got mine for less than £50), and really easy to put up. We've used it now a number of times (probably about to upgrade to be honest) and it's never leaked, but as mentioned above it does suffer in the wind due to being fairly tall and not having enough guys to hold it down. Can't stand up in the porch, only the bedroom. No ground sheet for the porch, but inner tent has groundsheet sewn in. If you buy this tent buy another pack of pegs, as the ones that come with it are rubbish.
Overall I've been really pleased with this tent. If you want to try camping you can't do a lot better than this tent.

First tent and love it, easy to erect, bedroom pod fits 2 double airbeds and clothes holdall, plenty of room for 3 adults and 2 dogs. Living area has room for my camp table and 2 camp chairs, which is a bonus for when the rain comes

We used this tent in September in Cornwall. It has lots of space. We could leave all kitchen utensils, food etc in the side area, and even could inside with table and chairs. It has plenty of space for two in the bedroom area. The height is nice for standing, changing closes etc. But when the wind blows you definitely which for a lower tent. It is a pitty that there are no supporting lines in the middle of sides. And in stronger wind the loops for the lines rub through the pole holders. Rain did not get through. So it is a nice tent as long as no stronger winds are to be expected.

Easy to take down & pack away.

Manufacturer's Description
The manufacturer has advised that this model has been discontinued.
Messina 400 is a fantastic tent giving the ideal combination of a spacious domed inner, with excellent head height, combined with a very generous porch for stowing gear and provisions yet quick and easy to erect and reassuringly stable in high winds, and warm and dry in bad weather. The two entrances, one at the front, one at the side, permit variations in the use of the porch. This 4 berth tent makes a great base for weekend trips away providing room inside for 4 or true comfort for less!
