5 Reviews of the Elise 400 DL

By: Kostas1  Reason: I've used one  Made in: 2011   Rating:   Date: 18/06/2012

Just back from a 5 day camping trip, I must say the tent held up brill as we had heavy rain for 3 days in a row only 1 tiny leak on a window seam, but that seemed to rectify itself.

Great living area, plenty of room and no problems with ventilation either.

Tent is so easy to put up and take down, the footprint is a godsend! We also purchased the Elise DL extension, it matched the tent perfectly, but think some more thought could have gone into the extensions design,

Cant wait till the next trip!

We just spent 5 night in the tent. It rained at least three of these and was very windy for two of them. Did it leak?? Yes a bit not to the extent we had to abandon ship as before! It leaked by the sleeping area but we only found the water when we were ready to go home. I think I may try spraying the seems to see if it helps. It did stand up to the winds though despite sounding from the inside like we were going to take off. When I checked it in the morning we were still secure. It is a really easy tent to put up 4 pole,s some pegs, 20 minutes open the wine.

We chose this for our first tent because of the large living space and 5000mm hh

On our first trip everything was going fine and we were happy with our purchase until it started to rain and after about an hour the tent developed some minor leaks from the seams.

We put this down to experience and enjoyed the weekend but when we were dismantling the tent we found puddles of water under the bedroom area.

When we returned home and complained to the retailer and they said we should have erected the tent at home and wet it by hosing it down a couple of times prior to using it which would have expanded the threads and improved the waterproofing.

We did this for the next week but the tent still leaked mainly from the seams around the rear ventilation vent.

We complained again and this time were given a can of reseal spray and a promise to replace the tent if that did not work.

Fingers crossed this resealing seems to have worked but do not think we should have needed to do this with a new tent especially a 5000 hh tent.

Anyway we will use the tent next weekend and check to see if it has worked.

This has spoiled what would have been a great tent.

Great living area, very spacious, it has really light and airy feel and looks great too, handy storage between the bedrooms. All highly recommended apart from a small fault we discovered, which is down to the manufacturer, and I'm sure we will get sorted out before our next trip, This fault hasn't put us off this tent, so go out and buy it you wont regret it!

Bought this because of the great living area. First weekend away and of course camping in Scotland it rained. We confidently sat inside our brand new tent watching the rain on the outside. Within an hour of the rain starting we had to abandon ship and believe me thats what it felt like. We were soaking the rain poured in at three different places. Leaving husband to guard the tent me our son and 2 soggy dogs drove the 40 miles home. Phoned the tent shop who exchanged it right away. Now if we can just get it to stop raining every weekend we will try it out and write again !
