8 Reviews of the Airbeam Eternity 600

Lovely tent but not if your camping is primarily with an electrical hook up.
The only cable tidies are on the beam right in front of the bedroom. Therefore the only place you can hang a light without the cable dangling to the floor is the bedroom. The last thing I want to do is keep my kids awake.
The layout of the tent means that the kitchen area will be at the front but the electrical input point is at the back meaning unnecessary cables running along the tent and under a side door. You would then need to run a lighting cable back again! Again no good with younger children.
Also no light hanging point on either beam near the front so you can't get an electrical light near the kitchen.
You cannot make ANY changes to the tent (sewing, sticking etc) without invalidating your 2 year warranty and as there still seems to be some teething problems with these type of tents, not something I am prepared to do.
If you don't want electrics in your tent then great. There are two hooks on the back and central beam where you could hang a battery powered light. To overcome that no hanging point at the front, you would just put a battery light on a table etc. Great tent as commented on by others.
I wanted to take this tent abroad and do more camping in the UK with electrical hook ups and to me this tent is simply not fit for the purpose. If I can't add cable tidies up the beams without loosing my warranty then the tent is no good.
I am still awaiting further feedback from Vango as I can't take the tent back without paying a return fee to the camping shop.

Just come back from a short break in the New Forest and had our first camp in our new Eternity 600. It was also the first time our 19 month old had been camping so I was hoping that the tent wouldn't let me down in any way. What can I say, the tent is amazing. Really strong winds when we got to the site but once I had the footprint pegged down in position I rolled the tent out, pegged the four corners out and started to pump the beams up. 10 minutes later the tent is pegged down and guyed out and I'm standing there with a cider in my hand and a smug look on my face. The tent took a battering from the wind but was as rock steady as our friends tent with steel poles (Vango Zambezi 500dlx). Loads of room inside for all our gear, my partner, me and our little boy. I inflated the beams to 5 psi although Vango had advised that I could go up to 7 psi. They still felt solid and showed no signs of leaking air. If we'd been staying longer then I would have also put up the matching front canopy.
So for the conclusion. We absolutely love the tent including our little boy who also loved the whole camping experience. Simply and easy to pitch and to pack away into the bag. The bag is big enough to get the tent, footprint, pegs and pump into it.
Yes, it is a very expensive tent, but the simplicity and ease along with the fact that I can pitch the tent while my partner looks after our little one, makes it worth every penny. We can't wait for our next trip in it.

Was very apprehensive when my other half came home with the airbeam due to the reviews I have read on here but we were looking for a large tent that I could pitch myself so other half could join us in the evening . We needed a large tent as we have three big dogs .
Anyway our first pitch I was waiting on the normal rows tears and snotters that normally appear when we are trying to pitch a tent not with the airbeam it was up in about five minutes it felt huge inside I was able to get both queen size raised air beds up in the bedroom at the rear so we then had the rest off the tent as living space. It was great to have loads off room for the dogs and out chairs etc.
The weather was really bad gale force winds terrible rain and the campsite was emptying bit by bit as people were struggling a few tents were blowing about.
The airbeam stayed up the best, no water inside and hardly moving.
Day three however and when still in bed the back airbeam collapsed on us however this was our fault as we had not been checking the air in the beams and also the guy rope in the back had came out . So I would suggest every night just check the air pressure and top up if required.
I can't recommend the airbeam enough it will change the summer months this year for us as it means I can go pitch myself for other half to join us after work. Also the space inside is fantastic, we do not have children but it would give fantastic space for a family. I am so excited to get back out in it this year again.

Upgraded to Eternity 600 to make it easy to pitch when just me and the kids
What a disaster, used it twice , Puddles everywhere and at 4am in the rain the rear tube collapsed, everything soaking wet
Back to winfields who told us that Vango now say to put 7psai in the tubes but our pump only allows you to put 4 psi in. All credit to winfields gave us full refund and we are going to buy the Amazon 600 instead, same tent but with steel poles
Eternity will be a great tent if Vango can sort the problems as it such a great idea and easy to use

I bought this tent for the sole reason I am a single parent to two young children who love to camp. I need a tent that I can pitch on my own in the least amount of time possible.
I bought the tent on a Friday put it up as a trial run in the garden on the Sunday and the pump snapped pumping the first beam up so took the pump back and it was replaced then went home and carried on pitching the tent. All seemed fine, took it straight down again an hour later knowing I could pitch it alone.Went camping on the Monday got it up in 10-15 mins on my own, then went off exploring with the kids. Came back 3 hours later with the back half of the tent collapsed and spent the next 48 hours continually pumping it up every 1-2 hours had to move the camp beds into the living space during the night and propped it up with a borrowed tent pole! phoned to say I was bringing it back to the shop and was told to make sure the back valve was not threaded and was closed tightly.Redid this twice and also never over filled with air.Still kept on collapsing! took it back to winfields where they replaced two of the beams, I really hope this has fixed the problems.I have yet to try it again but am soooo disappointed.I Love the ease and practicality of this tent for me and my kids but £800 pounds is a lot of money to me and if it wont stay up its No use to me! I'm going camping again in two weeks and I'll let everyone know how I get on!

We eagerly awaited the arrival of our new Vango airbeam 600, which we picked up on June 3rd 2012. We were impressed by the pitching time of 6-10 mins I'm afraid our experience of pitching takes a little longer as my husband won't call the job done until every last peg is in.So from start, about an hour.We also bought the canopy which took about another hour.Discussing with clenched teeth the instruction on the bag that didn't match our canopy.I'm sure we were the entertainment for the whole campsite. The next day we went for a trip out only to find on our return, one of the beams had collapsed. The seam had split on the seal. The two patches supplied couldn't make a seal. We had to take a beam out of the canopy to keep the tent up for the rest of the weekend. Two weeks later, another weekend away and a beam collapsed again so in total 6 nights away camping 2 collapsed beams.Sorry Mr Vango. We are NOT impressed with the £1000 we spent on tent, canopy and footprint.

What a great tent it does what it says on the box
Very easy to pitch says five minutes took me seven but im in my sixtys and disabled so good so far that was the main tent up and you can use it without guy ropes if it is raining as it was for me.
It withstood very heavy rain and wind no problem you could hear the wind and rain but the tent did not move at all before this I had a metal frame tent and it creaked all night.
When it came to decamping and putting in the bag this was a bit slower about 15 mins but compared to my metal frame tent very simple and a one man job
While this tent is expensive it is worth every penny
One other advantage is it does not have to be flat ground to pitch (but preferable)as it is so flexible
So its a great all-rounder

We went to 3 rivers campsite clitheroe this weekend in a borrowed Eternity 600 and front canopy.
It comes in two separate bags a fantastic well made holdall on wheels for the tent and a smaller carry bag for the canopy, the wheeled bag was great and made handling a breeze.
Upon opening the holdall we found the updated Eternity 600 instructions on a paper booklet that now recommend inflating the Airbeams to 7PSI. Opposed to the 4PSI. That is stated on the fabric instructions sewn into the inside of the tent holdall.
Pitching the main tent was really straight forward we pegged out the four corners and started to inflate the beams again very straight forward in no time the tent was up and pegged out, just in time as the heavens opened. Putting the canopy up took a little longer than the tent but this was mainly down to the torrential rain and getting the positioning of the canopy right, the next time should be a lot easier. I pitched the tent and canopy single handed and didn't break a sweat once.
As I said torrential rain but the Eternity and canopy didn't let a drop in. Very impressed. The fabric is 6000 hydrostatic head and looks a little waxy on the inside and gives you a good feeling of confidence. The rain carried on for an hour or so it got a good soaking.
The main tent has a fully sewn in ground sheet making the main living area and bedrooms feel well protected from the conditions outside. There are 3 external doors all with full mesh doors which will provide loads of ventilation on hot days. The divider on two of the bedrooms can be unzipped to give you a bedroom for four if needed. The extension doesn't have a sewn in groundsheet although it does come with a separate ground sheet, the front canopy fits around the main tent very snuggly and doesn't feel draughty. My only gripe is the canopy front door has no mesh which would of been nice to keep the midges out early morning/evening.
Packing away was again very straight forward and both the tent and extension fitted back in their bags with the minimum of effort.
So in summary fantastic tent, easy to pitch/pack even solo, great feel to the inside of the flysheet with 6000 hydrostatic head, with the extension plenty of room for 6 of us and equipment/furniture. Jack of all trades be it a weekender or 2 week hols tent it will do it all.
