We have bought the carpet at the same time as our tent and wouldn't be without it. It makes the tent more cosy and is great for the kids playing on as they don't feel the cold as they would on a groundsheet. Also you don't need to wear your shoes inside because of the cold so you can leave your muddy shoes in the porch. I would definitely recommend one of these.

We bought the carpet when we bought the tent at the beginning of this season we have been away twice now and I wouldn't be without the carpet. Carpet has stayed put and packs quite neatly with the help of the webbing straps provided. Its lovely to step onto first thing in the morning and would highly recommend to all Monty owners.

We bought this at the same time as buying the monty 6 tent. We think it is well worth the money, especially as we have two small children who do a lot of rolling around and playing on the floor. It is surprisingly easy to look after, although I haven't tried the hosing it on the washing line trick yet! Spills have been dealt with very easily with kitchen roll and, having EHU I do actually take my small rechargeable vacuum which not only hoovers up crumbs etc but vacuum packs all our bedding and clothes too! Would definitely recommend it.

Our first thought when we ordered was how big is the pack going to be? Like all of us space is limited. On collection the carpet was packed in a strong cardboard box with a size of 17” x 14” x 6” and with a total weight of around the 5kg mark. Once the folded carpet is unpacked, you find a webbing strap to secure carpet in approximately the above dimensions once removed from the box.

Once removed from the packaging the first thing that struck us were the colours. Although many pictures have been published on the internet, the colours are not as strong as on the pictures. The carpet itself is heavy gauged PVC backed, with a soft fleece top. It is very soft to touch and we would imagine quite warming to the foot when on the floor of your tent. The carpet is made to measure the tent that it’s purchased for and sits nicely in the living area. It lays down loosely in the living area not needing securing. The carpet has some in panels on it where the roll has been joined in production.

We have been told keeping the carpet clean is easy, just hang it over your washing line and rinse with the hosepipe. We thought the price we paid of just under £50 was very reasonable for a wall to wall soft carpet.

We have just returned from a six day break, the first with the new Outwell Carpet. As mentioned above the carpet just lays in the living area of the tent - a Montana 6 in this case. The rear of the carpet has a cut out to accommodate the centre fixing of the bedroom pods. During the Easter break the evenings were quite cold and damp, The carpet with the addition of the new footprint did cut down dramatically the dampness in the tent and on foot.

We found it very comfortable to walk on during the day and would be a very suitable addition to those camping that have a young family. Only towards the end of our time over the Easter period did we find the carpet start to raise in places. It should be noted no family here, just two adults and a dog, so with kids, and more coming and going, it may be different.

Spills are easily taken care of. Whilst away a cup of water was knocked onto the carpet. The liquid had not soaked in by the time we had got to it and was easily soaked up by kitchen towel.

Our overall experience of the carpet is very good. We found that not only did the carpet provide a soft underfoot, but also helped to reduce the cold and dampness on cold evenings. We would have no doubts in recommending the carpet if space allows and especially for those with young families.

A very useful addition for the Monty 6. Shaped to fit the living area, keeps your toes tostie warm on the coldest of nights. Enabling all shoes to be left in the porch reducing the amount of dirt bought into the tent. With a PVC backing it keeps any moisture from the ground at bay. No bag, but it does come with a useful strap to keep it rolled when not in use and an intergrated carry handle. Only down side is it is quite heavy but this in turn helps it to stay in place, once down it does not move around.
