Absolutely rubbish tent we used ours twice and ended up binning it after bad winds destroyed it. We have never been so frightened in our life, ruined our bank holiday camping trip, never slept all night. It completely fell apart, guy ropes snapped, collapsed on us. Bought from ebay for 73, would never buy like that again will be going to a good camping shop! Be warned

I contacted Tentastic about the leaks and after various e-mails they said they would send me a new flysheet. Instead a received a whole new tent today.

We bought our Leben Lingen 8 from Tentastic, probably the largest seller of tents on ebay. I bought it for 57 but paid extra to get 24hr delivery so the total was 74. For an 8 man tent this is a bargain price.

Putting the tent up is reasonably simple. Five carbon poles, 3 black, 2 grey. The grey poles go either end and the black poles in the middle, the poles are secured using ring & pin. One person could probably put this up with a struggle but goes up with two people without a problem.

Once the shell of the tent is up you then have to tighten it using the tightening straps next to the ends of the poles. This was our first problem, no matter how tight you pull the tent together you will always have a one inch, if not two inch gap between the ground and the start of the tent wall, certainly in the centre parts. The end sections can be secured to ground level. The more you tighten the straps across the floor you notice the tightening buckles begin to bend slightly, while none of these broke they looked under a lot of pressure.

The tent comes with two removable bedrooms with are fully sealed with their own groundsheet. These are fixed to the canvas using toggles and eyes and then pegged into the ground. Because the bedrooms are seperate you can have both or only one in place to allow more living area. The bedroom doors have a main zipped door and a zipped fly door too.

They would hold four people in each bedroom but three in each room would be more comfortable. It certainly held our double airbed with plenty of room around the sides to walk and put bags, etc.

The tent comes supplied with a separate groundsheet for the central living area. There is plenty of head room in the living area as well as space to move around. There are 2 windows and 2 doors in the central area. The window covers are rolled up on the outside and held in place by toggle & eyelet and the door can be rolled up in a similar way or held up to form a porch with the two metal poles provided.

We have just spent 3 nights in this tent and to be honest we enjoyed our camping experience. On the first night it rained quite heavily and we noticed that there were a couple of leaks in the tent. This was through the stitching around the windows and through the toggles for the doors, again at a stitch point. They were very slow drips rather than dribbles but for a brand new tent we were disappointed.

It is only when you see other 'branded' tents that you notice the difference between them and this. The quality of other tents really show through when compared to our Leben.

This is not a great tent but it is not a bad tent either. For a family that only uses it on a weekend and occasional camping it is ideal for the price but definitely not to be used in very bad weather. The leaking through the stitching is an obvious bad sign for a brand new tent but this did not detract from our time away and I will be contacting tentastic to find out what they intend to do about it.
