User Reviews of the Alta 6 DX

Fantastic tent has a lot of room. Very large living space with pods that sleep 3 in each. Been in the east coast on the top of a hill facing the sea. With the worst weather you could ever come across. The tent was fantastic never moved or leaked it withstood almost gale force wind. An outwell next to us was battered they paid twice as much as us and ended up being in our tent are there's was blowing all over the place.
Brilliant tent well worth ever penny! 10 out of 10

I bought an Alta 6dx two years ago as a way to get back into camping without having to declare myself bankrupt!
OK, so the rage isn't the best made tent in the world, but mine cost me less than £80 delivered! It is a simple tunnel tent and went up without any problems, it is very roomy inside and has plenty of ventilation, the groundsheet that comes with it is pretty flimsy, but I prefer to camp without one anyway.
We have been camping on several occasions in some truly dreadful weather, and touch wood have always remained dry. In summary, I love my Rage and although I am often tempted to upgrade, I will not do so until my rage decides that it can hold out the rain no longer, it would appear that Rage are somewhat hit and miss with their construction quality, I guess I must be one of the lucky ones!

I was a little worried about buying this tent but decided it was worth a try with such good prices on ebay.
Well we took it to Perran Sands in September and boy did this tent get tested.
First off I would say the quality is clearly not that of the main brands. (but then its considerably cheaper) there was the odd freyed guy rope and the poles felt a bit rough. Assembly was pretty painless though.
Once up we endured some horrific weather including gale force winds. It wasn't enjoyable in that weather but the tent remained standing. My parents Gelert suffered broken poles as did many other tents/awnings on site.
The tent did get a leak (we had a lot rain too) and the valance is poorly designed but we have sorted these issues by sealing the seams properly and buying some clingons. Now we have a fantastic tent!

Like all others, great easy tent to erect even for 1st time oldies like us both over 60, would like sewn in ground sheet and more brighter colours green ok but reminds me of the army. Overall, fantastic, bought from tentastic.

I purchased this tent off ebay for a very reasonable sum a lot lower than the RRP and for the money it was an absolute bargain. It is very easy to erect and was done between 2 of us. The room inside is fantastic, I am 6ft tall and still had loads of head room. The sleeping quarters are a very good size more than ample. We had gale force winds and the rain to match and the tent was up to the test.

I bought a rage Alta tent and used it for the first time this bank holiday. The tent is a bit hard to put up as the instructions aren't very good but we muddled through and it took us about 40mins for the first attempt. Not bad next time will know what to do.
The tent has loads of room two sleeping pods and a massive living space ideal if its raining.
Its has two front windows and two side windows in each side.
The only down side is it would be better with a fitted ground sheet rather than a pin down type.
It with stood some heavy rain and wind we had no leeks or anything it was fantastic cant wait to use it again.
There is only two adults using this tent as we like space but it will comfortably fit 6 even 8.
A great buy they retail at £200 but we got ours off ebay from a trader called tentastic can recommend.

This is a very sturdy tent, it survived awful wind and rain at Easter with no leaks or damage. It is just 4 poles the same length to erect, it is quite hard to get the pins into the holes the first time but then the fabric does stretch making it a little easier. It is very spacious inside, two good sized bedrooms and good size living area. The only thing I would change is the groundsheet in the main living area as it is not sewn in - having said that the sides of the tent have mud flaps and sit nicely on the ground eliminating drafts and rain.

I have recently returned from a camping trip in west wales. I bought a rage 6 DX for the occasion. This is a good sized tent, with ample head room in the living area. I went camping with my 2 young daughters, as a novice camper I bought everything, literally!, apart from the kitchen sink! I had room for a table 3 chairs and 2 active children.
This tent is easy to erect, all the poles are the same length, so there's no time spent trying to work out which pole goes where. There are 2 separate good sized bedrooms. My children and I all slept in one bedroom.
The only big downside to this tent is that the ground sheet is not sown in. The ground sheet doesn't cover the floor area of the tent, between the bedrooms, the front and the back of the tent there is exposed grass, this isn't a problem in good weather. But if its raining heavily the ground does become wet. I had to make sure my children had shoes on in the tent so that they didn't get wet feet. We had a week of terrible wind and rain, it was relentless! The tent withstood the wind and rain very well with no severe leeks. All in All this is a good tent.

First trip using tent and found it to be very good. Survived very high winds and heavy rain over night on north east coast of Scotland. Tent has great head room and two bedroom pods are good size. Ours came with separate ground sheet for front area and I suppose a sewn in one might be easier. Instructions for erecting tent could be clearer, eg poles through eyelets then insert pin into bottom of pole, (instead of insert poles through eyelets with no mention of pin) basic stuff but every little helps.
Overall very happy with tent and looking forward to using again.

We used this tent for the first time two weeks ago. We are a family of four and this tent gave us loads of space. There are two inner tents with sewn in ground sheets which form two separate bedrooms. The living area is huge with amble room for both storage and making use of on a rainy day. Although we only had two days of rain and light winds when we used it there were no leaks or problems. We did have a bit of difficulty in pitching it. But that was probably due to it being the first time. The main difficulty was with a couple of the ring and pin points where we struggled to get the pins into the poles.
Overall though very pleased with this tent.

Brilliant family tent, used many times and is a large sturdy tent that's easy to put up and take down. Very good in windy conditions, the one only draw back is that it hasn't got a sewn in groundsheet.

This fantastic new invention turns a can of drink into a sealed bottle, protecting drinks from being spilt, keeping out creepy crawlies, and keeping fizz in. They are a must for any camper or caravanner.
