We bought this tent because we fell in love with it when we saw it in go outdoors. Cant fault it there's masses of room, we only used it twice so far and are going to get the porch for it. It took us about half an hour to put up , we found trying to put it up when windy can be difficult with it blowing all over, and one of the poles broke but got a replacement pole from go outdoors for 5 and they fixed it while I waited. Would recommend anyone to buy this tent.

Just got back from 3 days camping in Malvern Worcestershire . We bought the Kalahari 10 tent and porch having upgraded from the Zenobia. The Zenobia is a brilliant tent but we wanted something slightly bigger. We erected the marquee/tent, my god its big, but beautiful. Its just as easy to put up as the Zenobia even in high winds. I know its a few quid more but worth every penny. We love it. I think with both these tents you do need the porch which is so good for storage/cooking. There are about 65 pegs to knock in and pull out and I found this a real bind. Someone suggested the screw in pegs using a cordless drill. We bought 40 to try them out and they are the best thing ever. No more knocking in pegs for me. Went straight out and bought 2 more boxes. . They screw straight in, even in hard ground, reverse the drill to remove them and they pop straight out. We removed all our 65 pegs in about 5 minutes. They are a must. Please try them and you will never go back to knocking in pegs again! They work out at about 1 each or less if you buy online.

Just to finish off big thanks to Blackmore campsite. It was beautifully clean. The staff were very helpful and we hope to visit again soon.

This is the most fantastic tent in the world. It takes approx 20 mins to put up, a bit longer to knock all the tent pegs in etc. It feels like a mansion inside! It is warm and comfortable. We use it for just the two of us, and it means we have space and we're not living on top of each other when we are camping. However, we have also used it with the two bedrooms assembled and two children with us too and there has still been plenty of room.

It has withstood gales and torrential rain (we are not fair weather campers and often camp in November). Everything seems to have been thought of - dividers for the bedroom, pockets to put things in. I absolutely ADORE this tent and would live in it all year around if I could! When its just boyfriend, me and the dog, we just put the one bedroom up and we have so much space for chairs, cooking, dog bed etc. Love it!

Bought this tent 2 weeks after the go outdoors sale but don't regret having to pay that bit extra. We have had 3 other tents in the past and this one was the easiest to put up by far.

My husband and I always argue when we put the tent up.But from the off we managed to put it up calmly and with not one crossed word. To say it is the biggest tent we have had it is by far the easiest to put up.

It is also so spacious that in one side we can get 2 double airbeds and a travelcot in with space in between, so we don't put the other bedroom section up.

We want to get the porch to go with it so the kids can take their wet clothes off in there.

It is also the only tent I have felt safe in when the wind has got going.

Would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs a good size family tent.

This is by far the best tent we have ever bought and we have had a few tents! easy to erect and holds up well under severe wet and windy weather. Tend to agree that with both bedrooms up the space left would struggle to hold 10 people but the average as we have two adults two young adults and 2 large dogs have been more than comfortable. I would advise anyone to get a Kalahari 10

I got this tent for a bargain price at Go-outdoors, as we were going to by a new tent anyway. We decided to go for this tent, and what a tent it is. We used it this year in Girvan. We only put one room up, which is a great Idea as it leaves you plenty of room for your accessories (table, chairs, kids toys etc.). It worked great in the wind and rain. And probably more importantly it only took us 20 minutes to erect. Overall, Easy to erect, spacious, comfortable, and very good value for money. I would (am) definitely recommending this tent.

Have just returned from weekend with the Kalahari 10 and also have week booked in the UK this summer with it. The weather was dry apart from one shower so can't really say how it stands up to heavy rain but on a night it was cold and the tent still felt quite warm. As there was only 2 of us we only put up one side of the inner tents(normally there's 3 of us). The tent is very large and we had plenty of space. Beware, however, when booking sites as some may charge extra due to it's large size (7m x 4m). Very easy to put up. Only took 2 of us about half an hour. Great tent and would definitely recommend!

We bought this tent last year in the Go Outdoors sale and we love it, we are a family of 5 (3 kids under 4) and there is so much room, it's almost like your not camping!

We had a couple of local weekends and then we went for our 10 day break in Devon and arrived in torrential rain and howling winds, with the kids in the car hungry and screaming we decided to go for it, and although very wet, blown and battered it still only took us 40 mins!

We bought the Gelert Meridian 10 carpet which we got cheaper than the Go-Outdoors carpet and we bought the Gelert Horizon enclosed porch which is just the icing on the cake, it does make it a VERY large tent, so be careful when booking sites but I have to say we have stayed on a both small and large campsites and never had problem.

We do our weekend camping with other families usually and now 3 of us have this set-up, it is such a reasonable way to get going!

In April we're going with the 5 of us plus the in-laws for a night!

Would highly recommend. (the tent that is, not the in-laws!)

We have had 3 successful holidays in our Kalahari 10 this year, and have kept warm and dry in some really heavy rain. I have had some problems getting the elastics to reach when fitting the bedrooms, and have now bought some extension elastics to help, am I doing something wrong, or is this a common problem? A porch will be available from Go Outdoors in the spring next year, but if you cant wait till then, you can buy one from Gelert stockists for the Beyond Meridian 10, which is exactly the same tent, and can be purchased for as little as 62.99. We have found the tent really spacious even for our family of 7, still managing to keep a bedroom free for luggage etc, well worth the money, and looks impressive when on the campsite!

This was my first time camping trip never really slept in a tent. Decided on Buying the Kalahari 10 from Go Outdoors (originally were going to get Kalahari 8 but the store had run out so we brought the 10 man for the same price as the 8 man.) We went for 3 nights to a campsite near us. There were 2 adults & two dogs. We had already had a trail run at putting the tent the weekend before which took about 1 hour. We arrived at the campsite late on Friday night and the tent took half an hour to put up. The insides were easy to fit and I soon had the tent feeling like a cosy little home from home! On the second night the wind got up quite high but the tent stood firm and there were no drafts coming through anywhere.

The little velcro straps on the inside are also a neat touch as it allowed us to hang the dog leads on as well as the lanterns, the pockets on the inside were also very useful for storing things however care needs taking as not to put anything too heavy in them. I would recommend this tent to everyone as it is nice and spacious, easy to put up and in my opinion good value for money

Manufacturer's Description

An updated version of Hi Gear's extra large tunnel tent, perfect for relaxed family camping holidays.

The Hi Gear Kalahari 10 Elite is a spacious and stable tunnel-style tent with two large partitionable bedrooms in a face-to-face layout, roomy enough for you, your family and all your gear.

Pre-attached high-visibility guylines, reduced pole sleeves, and sewn-in polyethylene groundsheet make pitching the tent quick and easy.

The bedrooms comfortably sleep five at each end of the tent, and have breathable polyester walls. Bedrooms can also be removed, to give you extra storage space, or room for dirty gear.

The huge living space has two large windows and hanging storage pockets to help keep it tidy, organised and liveable. Multiple vents along the roof help air flow throughout the tent.

The sewn-in groundsheet combined with the fire-retardant polyester flysheet (with 4000mm hydrostatic head) give you a fully sealed and ventilated internal environment, so you'll be completely protected from draughts and sustained downpours. The two doors can be propped and extended out to use for extra shelter from rain or stretching the space out for more room if it's sunny.

Other useful features include the water-repellent zips and an electrical cable access point.
