User Reviews of the Breckenridge 400
By: Gypsydoll Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2007 Rating: Date: 08/07/2009
Love this tent. Spacious, plenty headroom & not just near the middle, excellent ventilation, & withstood VERY heavy & prolonged rain- stairrods! - with no leaking. Simple enough to erect - 1st time took about 45-50 mins even though one of us has severe back trouble(but discounting the time in vehicle sheltering from rain!) We were lucky enough to get fantastic HOT SUNNY weather in the highlands of Scotland for several days, but the tent had great ventilation & was wonderfully cool inside, even though there`s a lovely big window so you don`t miss the views when inside.
One gripe is there is no means of sealing off along the bottom of the doorways, so our dogs could have got out. We had to shove things in front every night etc. But this is far from ideal so will modify in some way. Once home we pitched up to dry tent out (yes, stairrods again from 3am-10am of our final night/morning)which provided opportunity to test wind resilience - we live in a VERY windy spot - storm force not uncommon. Our feeling is that for a 4 man tent with this kind of interior roominess it does very well, but wouldn`t chance it in bad gale-force wind. All-in all though, very chuffed with it & excellent value for money.
Ps don`t know if it`s a 2007/8 - bought in 2008.

I bought this as an upgrade to my old tent. I found it extremely spacious and comfortable although it took 3 people to put it up. Found the tent too be rather cold and drafty in high winds due to the amount of vents it has but it is able to withstand high and strong winds and the heavy rain. But a great buy and looking forward to my next trip hopefully with sunshine.

First time we have been camping or owned a tent the 400 was easy to assemble (after watching dvd) The tent was cosy warm and although leaked a small amount on sky light area everything else was fine.
The three doors is great for condensation problems and the tent is roomy and light we had 3 adults and our grandchild with us and we had loads of room.
Taking the tent down was as easy as erecting no problems at all the only minus side is the pole bag is not light but we really enjoyed it and are going away again this weekend
Great tent for room, montage and De-montage and warm!

Bought this tent for myself and my son and anybody he wanted to take with us. I also wanted a SIG as the last tent I had didn't have one. Looked at many tents and decided I wanted either this one or an Outwell Utah. Picked this one because the groundsheet in the Utah had to be fitted when put up. I shopped around and managed to get this in the sale at Argos for half price. I am on my own with my son and was concerned how I would manage to erect it. The DVD that came with the tent was so simple and easy to follow. It was actually a doddle. There is so much room in the tent even with both bedrooms in. If you do not want to feel claustrophobic then pick this tent. The porch area is good for cooking in, if the weather suits! I have used the tent twice this summer and so far the only problem I have encountered is the clips that supports the rooms. They keep slackening, so this time I solved that by fastening them with safety pins.

Bought the tent because of the good revues we had read, used as a trial weekend and the tent leaked badly in several places (very disappointed). Informed retailer and they gladly replaced the tent for a new one. Went on a weeks holiday in Fort William and suffered a bad storm on the first night, stood up to the wind brilliantly but alas it leaked again mainly on the roof window seam and the door seam at porch end. As you can guess went back to retailer and got my money refunded. Goodbye nightmare tent. Going for another Khyam me thinks.

This was our first tent bought as a family with 3 small boys, and our criteria was that it had a SIG, a porch area and plenty head room. We eventually settled on the Breckenridge 400 as it ticked all the boxes, plus we got it at a fantastic sale rate of £159 ! We took it away for its debut last weekend and WOW ! It stood up to the sun, wind and rain that the Lake District always throws at you with no hassle at all. A dream to set up and pitch and just as easy to take down. Very very very pleased we got this tent. It is perfect for a family - lots of room, living space and guaranteed dry and warmth in even the worst weather.

I bought this tent after many hours deciding on a tent which was large enough to stand up in, easy (ish) to pitch and also had enough room to be in when it rains. I am so glad that I decided on this tent. I am a single mum with 2 girls and this is a dream to pitch and pack away even when you have to do most of it on your own. The huge roller bag ensures that it is easy to do this. I have just been away in what has to have been the worst weather to camp in and this tent withstood everything that was thrown at it - wind, rain, mud! My only grumble was that rain came in through the front mesh vent and dripped onto the floor - not a great deal but it did cause concern for a moment! The SIG ensured that we did not have to worry about rain leaking in. A fantastic tent for a small family who seem to carry all their wordly possessions for a weekend camping trip! Looking forward to our next trip - hopefully with some sunshine this time!

Stunning Tent! Previous tent was a coleman canyon 6 man tent, but the breceknridge 400 is much better, bigger and sturdier! Cost approx £140 for tent, standard canopy and delivery. I have since bought the carpet £25.Vowed I never would but it really makes all the difference when the weather is cold, damp or wet! Easy to erect and feels very solid once up. Have just done a week in France with the tent - it was fab, even with another couple sharing the tent with us! Have also done the odd one night stay which isn't ideal but it only takes approx 50 miniutes for 2 adults to get it sorted.

A lovely high roomy tent easy to erect and a great tent to spend your holidays in.
There is a fully sewn in ground sheet that flattens at the doors enabling you walk in and out with out stepping over the SIG.
At night you can clip it up to make the tent draught free and very cosy.
Three doors and Fly screens to the two side ones its nice to ba able to let the breeze blow through.
Very good in wind and a dream to peg out and to put away.
Having the porch is great but not needed as there is already a fixed porch on the front door which stops the floor getting wet in bad weather.
