Finally! A day tent that ticks all the boxes for me!

I bought this to replace my Vango Event tent - see my updated review on here for the reasons why.

I pitched this solo in a fair breeze. Once I got the hang of how to stop the poles flopping about, it was easy to get it standing and stable so I could guy it down.

I like the storm flaps at the bottom edges and the way they wrap over at the door pegging points. You could probably sleep comfortably in this without any draught or rain getting in. It is waterproof. It had a baptism of fire in Glencoe 2 days after I got it! It rained, then when the rain stopped, the monsoon started! this thing took it all in its stride. Even when the wind got up it stood its ground. Ok so there is a fair amount of material getting it square on the chin so you have to expect a certain amount of movement but to be honest, all I had to do was close the lid on my cooker to stop the material knocking it over! I didnt need to move any tables or furniture out of the way of billowing tent!

This is a good all rounder - waterproof even at the zips, good stabilization in the wind, good groundsheet, plenty of space for all my stuff, good head height, doesn't weigh a ton even when wet and the poles don't jam!

This day tent is brilliant! have used twice now 1st time as kitchen for our salinas,2nd time as a fully fledged day(night)tent

Second time out it was wet and windy, very wet and very very windy, the day tent was fully exposed to the elements and it really was a surprise result!

The wind destroyed 2 gazebos , one 5 man tent and ripped a 2010 Vango maritsa 700 by the front door zip seam! the oklahoma was already acting as a windbreak for the maritsa when a gust ripped it,and nothing, absolutely nothing happened to the day tent, the wind hit it hard but with good pegs~(not the Outwell ones) this day tent stays upright and keeps you dry without being miserable and going back to your own tent,

This is a well made tent but I agree with others that the g/sheet should be a bathtub type. That said the storm flaps kept out all the weather,

By the way the salinas I took with me was also spot in

We bought this as a kitchen tent addition for our Nevada M. Very quick and easy to put up and take down – though we’ve had to have two of us on the poles so far. Fits even more in than we’d anticipated. One cupboard, table, cooler, 6 adult chairs and a toddler chair.

I was dubious about the flat groundsheet, but during three days of rain and storms the mudflaps did their job and everything stayed dry, except at the entrance. The corner windows let in enough light and I like the option of only having the top half open. All four sides open and have a mesh screen.

I would be more comfortable with a ZIG (keep the earwigs and midgies out!) and it could do with some vents in the corners to help with condensation when you’re cooking with all the doors down. All in all though, a decent addition to our collection and means we can keep the Nevada M longer as we’re not outgrowing it as quickly.

Has been fantastic as a kitchen living room in some very bad weather, stood up very well in strong winds. Defo need two to put it up but takes no time at all.

Curtains on our corner windows are fine, but do wish that one or two of the doors also had a clear plastic window as well as the mesh so I can see the world going past in bad weather, the corner ones are good but would be nice if one of the roll up doors was clear.

Fantastic for use with a small tent instead of a gazebo or we use it to cook in in bad weather as a kitchen.

A very useful day tent. We use it as a cooking/eating tent to supplement our frame tent. All four sides open or can be closed depending on wind direction. We originally brought it to replace a gazebo and given the weather conditions over the past two summers, an excellent purchase. Instructions not too clear as to how sides are secured to ground. Definitely needs two to erect as poles tend to collapse without one person holding whilst other secures guy ropes. The tent flexes very well in strong winds.

Very spacious: room for a large cooking table, 2 reclining chairs, and bags of food and jerry cans.

However.Very difficult to erect in the wind (tried with one other person). Impossible unless you either have: more people or natural shelter (e.G. Small hill to hide behind, as we did). Hence the lower score.

One other point. The ground sheet is not attached to the flysheet. This causes flapping noises in windy conditions. There are mudflaps that you can put a rock on, but this is a temporary solution.

Second point. Windows are not completely covered by the curtains. Therefore you may wish to purchase some velcro to attach yourself.

Pitching difficulties.

Heavy poles.

Ground sheet not attached to flysheet, therefore in strong wind you cannot weigh down the tent from the inside to stabilise it.

We bought this as we often go camping with friends and its the best bit of equipment we have ever bought! It can be used as a fully waterproof tent if the weather is bad. You can ccok in it, use it for storage, it makes a great communal area when camping with friends rather than sitting in someone elses tent. You can share camping equipment easily. All 4 sides have windows and mesh as well as fully opening up. You can use it with or without ground sheet depending on the weather and it stands up to the elements far better than any gazebo. Well worth the investment a must have in my opinion
