This is a great tent for the two of us, although we have had the bedrooms partition zipped up and a daughter in the other part - this makes it VERY snug as the rooms JUST fit a double bed. (Solved that problem by buying her a small Coleman, which she loves). But for two: excellent. V. Good ventilation, completely water tight and draught, insect and rodent proof. We bought the porch side extension last year and this is good for what it does: provide a bit of extra cover and privacy. We've had no difficulty getting it to fit fairly snug. We use it as a kitchen. The little green wooden pole which keeps the small canopy over the main side door taut broke last year. Agree that the door zips on the main side door are a nuisance, but they sre draught and damp proof. And would have liked a mosquito net in the front opening door - which would have earned 10/10 - but can keep bedroom(s) mossie free, of course. Our best tent yet (4th and counting). Very well pleased.

Second year with this tent, and we like it. Easy to erect with two people (peg the corners, put the front up first and guy it). Great space inside. We have the footprint, carpet and side canopy and it's a good package.

Pluses: great venting system on sides and bedrooms; easy to put up and down, and oversized bag means easy to pack and you can get the footprint in there too. 'zip up' curtains on one side. Plenty pockets in main space and bedrooms.

Bathtub design so it stays dry. We've tested this tent in all weathers and never had any issue, even with howling wind and rain.

Canopy is a great cooking space if you do need shelter.

Negatives: the zip on the side door (the main door as this has a small porch over it) is really, really sticky and easily catches on the fabric. If you don't get the pitch right, it pulls on the zip making it very hard to close.

No mesh on the large door on the front of the tent, so if you have this rolled up you can't have a fly-screen.

Canopy fit is poor, Next tent we buy will have a zip-on canopy as these provide better wind/rain proofing and less noise in the wind.

Not able to say much about water proofing because weather had been moderate.

Good head room.

Erects easily.

Sturdy enough but I found by putting a length of elastic rope diagonally over the tent and pegging it down made it even better.

However, the fit of the canopy over the tent could not have been worse - even if Coleman had tried to make it that way- HENCE THE ELASTIC ROPE OVER THE TENT.

All in all a good tent but not value for money.

Bought this while bored over the winter whole on special deal (160). It's fantastic, really well made. The steel poles give you that extra bit of confidence when the wind picks up. Inside is huge. We've also got the Evanston 4, and the carpet only covered half the floor. I agree about the zip flaps, but I'd rather that than water getting in. The vents enable good cooling if pitched in direct sun. Again, it's easier to pitch with 2 people as the steel poles don't give you any flex.

The bedrooms open into one, which proved handy with our little'un.

Another good feature is it's ease of packing away. Make sure all the doors and vents are partially open to let the air out and roll it up. It easily fits into the over sized bag.

We have the Cabin 6. Outstanding quality, we've previously had Cabanon Espace 10 years, but wanted something quicker ; tried a Khyam ( a bit too robust and less attractive ) but saw and loved the cabin 4 & 6.

3 happy seasons use, door zips can jam in bottom corners until you get the knack (use a finger to spread the weather seals )

We have the porch awing as a kitchen, good value accessory

Just wished they offered a matching square sail to use as a sun shade awing etc

I bought this tent in 2011 to replace my awful Vango Idaho. After reading some good reviews I had high hopes for this tent.I first used it in the lake district and was pleased with it initially. The tent is quite easy to erect although it helps to have two people to get the poles in an upright position.Once pegged down the tent seemed sturdy.

The tent has plenty of headroom in the main living area and the bedrooms were plenty big enough.

It has some nice features although I found the pet flap and hookup hole a bit gimmicky.

It wasn't until the first night I found a major fault with the tent.In the early hours of the morning I had my usual call of nature. This is when I found the zip on the front door jammed from the outside and I had to try and release it by feel whilst trying to hold in a pee.In fact I had to crawl out of the small gap I'd manage to create on order to stop myself from wetting my pants.

I have had the same issue with the tent since then,I think tent manufacturers should concentrate on getting important things like this right instead of adding naff features like catflaps etc.

That aside, this seems to be a decent tent that is waterproof, sturdy, fairly easy to put up and looks nice.

I wanted to give this a 10 score but the front door zip let it down.If you do buy this tent, make sure you have a bucket at hand for those nighttime emergencies.

We absolutely love this tent! We have just had our 3rd holiday in it - it stood up to high winds and rain last year with absolutely no leaks. Very sturdy tent - just doesn't move once its set up properly. Its spacious for the 2 of us and with the carpet etc its very cosy. Love the window with the strips that 'curl' - inspired! We also bought the awning to store stuff in for long holidays. My husband and I have put it up (I'm only little!)and taken it down in the wind and have no problems if you do it right Its our first tent and worth every penny, we look forward to many fab holidays in this one!

We have just returned from a week camping in Perranporth. This Mackenzie Cabin 4 tent leaked in all the corners. The bedroom was flooded we had to bale out the water. The seams leaked. The bedroom vent zip on the right is broken already. We have only used it 3 weeks, it is no use whatsoever in the rain. Wind it can take with no problems. This tent supposedly has a 2 year warranty. I am waiting to hear from someone in Holland, the UK customer service have no authority to act on the '2 year warranty'. We have owned other tents and never spent this much money on a 'premium' tent, we were expecting so much more. There are only 2 of us, both in our 50,s and not heavy on camping equipment. I am so disappointed with this tent. The side canopy is a badly fitting, and the rain pours in down the side. I cannot give this tent and canopy any more than a score of 2, as when it is dry it's fine. But how often does it stay fine and dry in an English summer holiday?

We have had issues with our Cabin. First outing it leaked in a light drizzle, second outing it ripped at the back fixing. The company who sold it to us eventually replaced it and we have just used it for the first time this year.

We haven't yet mastered putting it up. It is quite awkward to get the three poles to stand up when erecting it but once thats done, its not too bad. Although we are still struggling to get it to sit on the ground without the back end at one side staying off the ground.

SAYING THAT, this is a fantastic tent which has made going camping a pleasure. The space inside is amazing with plenty room for chairs, stove, table and all the regalia to make camping comfy. Loads of pockets for bits and bobs, sewn in groundsheet for beastie free camping, large sleeping areas which unzip into one another - great for dogs and clothes. Nifty zip for hookup if required, windows on three sides. Super looking tent, with large bag to put it into, saving all that huffing and puffing putting it away. Very sturdy poles although the tent pegs are very cheap and bend far too easily. We also bought the matching awning also has windows and really is one of the best looking tents I have seen of late. Coolport fan hatch doubles up as a dog flap! Overall, Bit fiddly to put up in the wind, incredibly spacious, when sleeping area taken out its a huge space that would shelter many, good looking tent but a monster to dry! We do love it despite what I have said - gotta be honest!

Up graded from a Halfords package tent. Best thing I done.

Easy to erect. Steel poles, sturdy and spacious inside. We got the carpet and the ground sheet inc. I would recommend them. Plenty vents. Camped out in 50 to 70 mph winds the tent done its job. I also bought the side extension for it also recommend it, we keep all the junk in there. A good buy all round
