1 Reviews of the Wolf Lake Awning Conversion Kit

By: Macadoodle  Reason: I own(ed) one  Made in: 2013   Rating:   Date: 20/01/2014

I had a Awning Conversion on the front of our Wolf Lake 7 last year.

PROS: It provided lots of extra room, and made the front area a really usable space. We used it in the evenings when the kids had gone to bed - it was far enough away to watch the TV etc without disturbing them while they slept.

CONS: It only has a toggle in groundsheet, rather than a zip. Not a massive issue, but seeing as the rest of the tent has a zip-in, I thought the Awning Conversion would too, to keep the creepy crawlies at bay.

The opening is quite high, and shorter people may struggle to zip up the door easily - it's a tight fit and can be pretty stiff. Outwell don't do a carpet for this section of the tent, which surprised me, however Attwoolls make very reasonable made to-measure carpets, one of which we had already. This fitted fine and was much better quality than the Outwell carpet in the main room of the Wolf Lake.

Our main gripe with the tent though was the quality - one of the pegging points broke because of poor stitching and there were several other issues that I would not expect of Outwell.

Also, it is very expensive for what is essentially a floor and a door!
