Hi Alan, welcome to UKCS.  The only bongo I've ever owned made a noise like a drum, so sweet. Used to get told off though while camping, keeps the neighbours awake.

Hi Alan,

Welcome to ukcs. Don't have a Bongo, I have a Bambi! but I did look at a Bongo while I was searching for a van, Bambi was just a bit bigger - and cheaper!  Have a look at the Events/Meets button at the top of this page, you will see that there are loads arranged for this year, come along to one, they are great fun & you will get to meet  a really friendly bunch of folk. A lot of peeps are away at the moment, but I'm sure that when they get back after this week-end there will be others who will reply.

Debbym

Hi Alan, I've seen them before, sorry, couldn't resist being a little bit naughty.   Yes they are all meets, Whaddon is Alderbury Caravan Park (going tomorrow), Trotting Mare at Wrexham and Lickhill are later in the year.  I have only been to one meet and that was at Elvaston steam fair last year, can't wait for this years rally.  Come along to one and bring your bongo with you, you'll be made more than welcome.

I am still about - just been lurking more than posting.

Bordercaz - as you predicted last year - the Bongo wasn't quite big enough.

We've splashed out loads of money and bought a Cavarno4 from Horizons Unlimited which is based on a SWB Transit. Only slightly bigger, but more room than the Bongo and the sleeping arrangements are more flexible. Nowhere near as nice to drive though . I still have the Bongo at present - using it to commute - but it's up for sale. I would buy another one if the internal conversion was different.

Alant54 - they really are great vehicles, but just didn't quite work for us. I can recommend going on a meet with UKCS and also on one of the Bongo Bashes - you meet lots of like minded people.

Know what you mean Dave, that's why I changed from my SWB Tranny Autosleeper last year to a 6 berth Elddis - and there's only 3 of us!

Hope to see you at Lickhill again, this year son will be in the van not in his pup tent so hopefully no middle of the night visiting Uncle Simon look a likes!
