Just a general question for everyone as really stuck on this one!!!!

Have a second hand motor home and not sure if the water tank has been cleaned correctly since previous owner
*would you use water purification
*or a water system cleaner for full clean (tanks/pipe etc)
*and do you know if there is any chance that the water system cleaner could damage the water system?

*For e.g seen truma aqua star 1 and 2 water system cleaner would you recommend this product?

Please Advise on best way to proceed or any recommended products and way to clean it correctly.

Thanks Very Muchly Angel34 (total novice);)

You can use any thing you like, but you will find that 95% of people WILL NOT DRINK THE WATER FROM A TANK no matter how clean it is, yes we do use the water but only if boiled ie, cup of tea/coffee/cooking and washing in general but never DRINK WATER FROM THE TAP, I use aqua tabs and have never had any smells or problems with the water, also the secret is NEVER LEAVE WATER IN THE TANK when camper/motorhome is not in use, leave water taps open so air can circulate around the system.

we use Puriclean powder to sanitise our system. Just dissolve the powder in some warm water then fill up the tank and leave overnight.

Make sure you run it though the pipes. We then leave it overnight in the waste tank to clean that as well.

No idea if it makes the water potable as we only drink it once it has been boiled.

Should have said that we only do this at the start of the season after winter storage.

fill with chlorinated tap water leave over night .then drain . fill again then you can drink it .
i drink mine . i use our tap water to clean and drink .
when abroad i usually drink it as well . if i do have to fill from a river or unknown source i do have a seperate ceramic filter with silver inlay . but as soon as i can fill with chlorinated and clean then fill .
i worked with south west water so have a good idea its ok after speaking with their scientists .
most will never fill from rivers but we do if in africa sometimes .

I do mine once a year in spring with Puriclean - available from most caravan/motorhome dealers. 2.49 for a tub that's enough to do my little tank twice.

I don't drink water from the tap - don't like plain water - but I clean my teeth with it and the dog drinks it. When the kids were younger and came away with me they used it to make up Squash etc. Never had a problem.

most cleaners are a weak bleach . even milton is only a weak bleach . so is chlorinated water . if you do suffer with a weak stomach or alergy to chlorine use a nature pur filter or a dolton berkenfeld filter . like mine ceramic filter with silver inlay .silver is the worlds best cleaner of water. try brownchurch landrover in london . they do them like mine .

I clean my tank once a year with Milton. The tank is under a seat and can be inspected (a big cap screws off).
I drink from mine, but the wife refuses.

On the internet you can be anything you want. It`s strange so many people choose to be rude and stupid.

One more question now.
Have filled the water tank to clean it out it had a small leak through on carpet, is it meant to do this filled tank to 1.0??

Thanks
