We had been putting off doing the WC500 because of Covid, but decided to give it a go in September. It was a fantastic experience, but if we did it again I would do it over 3 weeks instead of 10 days and pre book the sites.( you don't need to book sites on the north coast because there seemed to be plenty. We wish we hadn't booked Altanarra because of the detour and we could have found a site easily enough on coast.) 10 days was ok, but we were always pushing for next site.
The one thing I would advise all MH's doing WC500 is make sure you have padding for your shoulder because mine is still sore due to seat belt rubbing on it. 1400 miles in 10 days is some rubbing.
We have done Anglesey and Wales. WC500. Northern Ireland's Causeway Coast and we are hoping to do the coast of Ireland Next.
Love this Motorhoming. We would never have done this with our caravan.
Cheers

Glad you enjoyed it. More usually called the North Coast 500 though, thatís the website name.
Other coastal circuits are available, some have titles: round Kintyre is the K60 (itís 60 miles around the Isle of Arran but thereís isnít an official A60), a loop in Dumfries & Galloway is the SW something (300?) and thereís one in NE Scotland too.
Personally, Iím very fond of the west coast (especially Argyll) so Iíd add more onto the Kintyre loop - Lochgilphead to Oban and on to Fort William. If you then went up to Mallaig, thatís a favourite stretch of coast around Arisaig; ferry over to Skye, bridge off at the other side and lo! youíve joined the NC500.
So when youíve done Ireland, come back & visit us again! The Scottish coastline is longer than the coast of FranceÖ.

10 days is nowhere near enough, nor is 3 weeks. I've been going to Scotland most years (some years morw than once) for 30 years and haven't done all the NC500 yet.

Other parts keep getting in the way. It was the Mull of Kintyre loop this year! One to do again due to very poor weather.
