For Pete’s SAKE! That’s a fair length of fence to replace. I have an 1890s brick wall on one side (intact, the neighbour’s trampoline hasn’t blown into it this year) and a privet hedge on the other (it’s gone black, macabre).
We enjoy a couple of GINS on a Friday night, to celebrate the end of the working week or mark the beginning of the relaxing weekend.
Current favourite is Beinn an Tuirc, but we also like Opihr or Roku, and only if they’re on offer!
Up here, folks make a Clootie Dumpling: it’s a light fruitcake cooked in a cloth (cloot) that’s tied at the top, creating a domed shape. I don’t think using a SOCK instead would work.
