You have to PICK your dates carefully at this time of year - or just be prepared to take what comes. The only thing that puts us off is very strong and gusty winds on a travelling day, in which case we'd hope to leave sooner or stay longer to avoid them.

Rain certainly MADE camping in a tent pretty miserable: it was almost impossible to keep everything dry. (A tent is great in good weather though.)

I can't DENY that we are caravanners, formerly trailer tenters, and I've only ever slept in a tent 2 or 3 times in my life. I'd have been happy to embrace camping, but my OH is all about his home comforts!
