They no longer have bikes with double crossbars either.

Do you remember those bikes Bob?

I have a vague recollection of seeing one once...in a museum

I have never camped in snow but I have camped in heavy frost a couple of times and I can't say I enjoyed it. I was conceived in the winter of 1946-1947 which is probably why I can't stand winters.

Camping in frost is cold but snow insulates the tent and it remains relatively warm inside.

I've camped in frost a few times but I didn't enjoy it - am definitely becoming more of a fair-weather camper as time goes on! As for camping in snow - no thanks, pretty though it is. I don't think I or my tent would stand much of that. This last lot only provided a brief dusting here. Hope that's the last of it for this winter now.

I can assure you we've had the last of the winter snow.
I'm not so sure about the spring snow though.

Didn't mention the snow because we had none at all at low level. Arran looked fabulous though - jaggy white peaks gleaming in the sun, against a cloudless blue sky.
