aah, really happy you have found Pito - she is gorgeous, so playful and alert. May you enjoy many adventures with Pinto.

All these lovely dogs on this thread...might have a think about replacing our teen with a dog when he goes to Uni!

Such sad news about your little dog Colin but Im sure he had the best life with you - hope you are doing okay.

Thanks Bofs, we still really miss him. He did seem to enjoy life with us I must admit. This was him a couple of years ago. Hope the picture comes out as I'm having minor problems with the site tonight.

Lovely photo. He looks full of life and a real character. You must miss him so much - the worst part of being a pet owner.

Yes we really do miss him. Whenever I sat down he would be there snuggled up to me, he was absolutely devoted to us. He was indeed a real character. Scared of nothing, even thunder or fireworks which both terrified our previous dog didn't bother him a bit! He'd just open one eye, look around to see what was going on, then go back to sleep.

You are right, losing them is the worst part of being a pet owner. We've had and lost a few over the years and it doesn't get any easier.

Yes, totally agree. Despite getting Pinto, I still miss Bailey on a daily basis. He really was my soul mate, the perfect dog and companion. He seemed to know how I was feeling and he understood every word we said. A very special boy, very much missed. Pinto is developing her own personality and is quite a character, it is hard getting used to a little whirlwind chasing around when you've got used to an older, gentler dog Then this morning I woke up with her curled up next to me on the bed, couldn't have got any closer to me! She is my 5th dog and each one was unique and all have their own special place in my heart. Being a dog owner is such a privilege and an honour.

Never forget them, do you Tracey. We certainly remember all of ours. They are all unique as you say and have their own characters, probably just like us. Benji, the one in the picture that we lost earlier in the month, could read us like a book. We didn't have to say anything he seemed to know what we were thinking. He was certainly special to us too.

We have always had rescues, and they seem to know and always seem somehow grateful, but perhaps that's just me. I'm a real softie when it comes to dogs. My wife's just the same.
