The next review date is the 28th of May - just to clarify here's what the First Minister actually said.
"Within a few days of that, we will aim to allow, for example, more outdoor activity such as being able to sit in the park, meet up outdoors with someone from another household as long as you stay socially distant, some limited outdoor sporting activities like golf and fishing, the opening of garden centres and recycling facilities, and the resumption of some outdoor work."
There has been no suggestion of easing non essential travel, nor of opening facilities for holiday trips, I'm sorry to say. Not yet, anyway. It was, I fear, optimistic to expect anything else. Safety first, as ever. There are daily updates from the FM , readily available online so you can keep checking.

I filled the car up with diesel today whilst the price is still at rock bottom. Once there is a hint of relaxation of travel restrictions then fuel prices are likely to go back up.

For anyone thinking of heading out on the hills, it might be worth being aware of a couple of points (from my involvement as a volunteer in another capacity).
First, and whilst this applies to Scotland, it may well apply elsewhere in the UK, there are changes in the way air ambulance transport operates with less scope for interventions in the air, longer aircraft turnaround times because of increased cleaning arrangements and staffing requirements. This means less availability. The air ambulance service deals with locals in need of emergency as well as accidents on the hill or major trauma in road accidents, so worth bearing in mind.
Secondly, from someone in mountain rescue, CPR is chest compressions and defibrillation only and chest compressions cannot be started until all wearing PPE and the casualty wearing a mask. Not too practical.

The FM (with a load of if's and maybe's) attempted to clarify what we may or may not possibly expect in the way of easing restrictions...
We can meet with one other person from another household, but no limit on the number of different households. (This makes me wonder if I can see one person and Mrs.L can see another one in the same household) We can go out as much as we like, preferably within 5 miles, but this is not a strict limit.
Well, it's a start, but nothing major.

Sites may well open mid-late July, but if local attractions, pubs, restuarants et al are not, what's the point, apart from having a walk with different scenery?

I think plenty of us are into having a walk with different scenery and then relaxing on the site if the weather is good enough.

The answer is in the question - DIFFERENT scenery. After being confined to our local area for ages, being able to enjoy somewhere different would be great in itself.

I do look forward to a drive along the coastal route to the East Neuk of Fife not far from where I live, just being able to do that will be good.
I also look forward to walking down my street to the beach I have been looking at out of my living room window for almost 10 weeks, being one of the thousands of people who have had to self isolate for 12 weeks.
Even walking along to the local shops will seem like a treat and being able to say thank you to the shops that have delivered shopping etc.
