Mick, if you can put all the details of the German watch on here, I'll have a look on the family history sites, some of them have German records. I'll also ask the sleuths on GR who are always happy to take on a search.

I'd like to get my pocket watch repaired, but I'm not going to spend a fortune on it as it probably didn't cost the company (BR) more than 10 in the first place. There's probably hundreds if not thousands of them still around, so I doubt it's worth more than 20 in good working order. They were standard issue to all guards. It probably only needs a good clean. When I became a driver I was issued with a wrist watch, and that was a battery one.

Colin

I use him for my 60's gold Omega and my 50's self winding watch. He gives a great service. Ring or e mail first though as he is busy. He likes to tell you when to send your watch in then he doesn't keep it too long.

If it's the 'Mondial' make, and it's engraved with the 'BR issue number' you'd be surprised as to the value! But I'll give you a tenner for it and happily pay postage!
