I own the 1.6 ,got it the end of February this year. Fantastic car. I have a 2013 Avante 540 with a uprated weight to 1500kg. Tows perfect,plenty of power and Torque for me ( 300 mm/rpm)Had a problem once only,coming through Middlewhich. Was on a very steep incline and was raining quite heavy,wheels started to spin so just had to ease it up slowly. Got us to Cornwall and back, to Yorkshire and North Wales no problem at all. The best bit is get in the fiftys around town,on motorway we have had up to 78 mpg ( according to the computer) and around 34 when towing. Lovely to drive ,plenty of room,great car.

I'd miss the 4WD used solo in our Scottish winters as well as on wet grassy pitches. If the 1.6 was 4WD I'd probably get one.

1.6 ltr 4WD version is due out sometime in 2015 with more power than current on 2WD, 2.2iDTEC engine will be dropped, this 1.6 will have same power and torque as the 2.2 iDTEC

Hi Ards, no is the answer. She has a max tow of 1700kg and I'm well under that. she tows a dream with the van. Picked the vanup from the dealers today after getting some work done,and to be honest until I looked in the mirror I forgot the van was on lol.

I have a 2010 CR V 2.2 auto and tow a Coachman with MLTPM of 1475kgs, it tows it no problem (22-26 mpg depending on journey, best was 27 mpg on a run into Norfolk, usually 22-24 mpg) would expect better mpg from a manual, auto tends to hunt around 4th and 5th. Auto has max towing weight of 1500kgs, manual 2000 kgs, nose weight 100kgs.
Had a detachable towbar fitted by Honda main dealer at a cost of £675 with twin electrics,(in 2012) my van does not have ATC so no problems in that dept re fuse blowing. Labour cost is based on 4 hours labour, had it fitted by main dealer as the car wa still under Honda warranty, this would avoid any issues with electronics if fitted by an independent and arguing who would rectify. Had no problems at all. The towbar is manufactured by Bosal, only recomendation I would make is to take it off when not using or take off and grease the pin after use and refit as the release knob can get quite stiff. Honda specify the skinny spare should not be used when towing ( I bought a full size matching spare and tyref off E Bay for £200). Also if you have to fit the skinny spare when running solo I was advised turn of the VSA ( car is fitted with 18" wheels ). Hope this helps
