Anyone know what started the fire at the Tesla site in Crawley?

Strange coincidence that Tesla issue a statement they are closing showrooms and going online sales?

Post 1997 licence holder?

Max tow weight = Cars gross laden weight + Caravans gross laden weight.

These 2 figures must not exceed 3500kg. And the Caravans gross laden weight must not exceed the cars UNLADEN weight.

Unless the manufacturer has set a lower limit.

That's the old one, just said storeroom. Wonder if "Rich Rebuilds" was in there charging his batteries?

The intitial descriptions of the fire certainly sounded like a battery fire. Lots of small explosions.

Makes you wonder how home insurance companies will rate those with electric vehicles? Will that be a question asked when taking out home insurance?

Good point Grampian91. I seem to remember problems with lithium batteries on planes catching fire, so if BEVs are using lithium batteries...........

Tesla Model “Y” reveal next week 14th March, this car is bound to have a tow bar option as it is basically a smaller version of the Model “X”.

The Model “Y” will outstrip sales of the Model “3”, as the SUV market is were it is at in car sales.

It's where it's at, no doubt about that.

Between that and some old tin can in space I don't know how Francis finds the time to get any work done.

Yep, little over two hours to go for the Splashdown, how many other car makers are putting folk into space.

OK I will admit, Toyota are giving it a bash, but not until 2030.

Hopefully by then I will be driving around in my Tesla Model “Y” !

Francis, as a man, who by his own admission has never owned a car since the Model T was in a showroom, actually going to dig under his mattress and get some of the stash out and really buy one of these overhyped(mainly by your good self I may add) flash in the pan game changers?

Mike over to you.

Is that how long it will take before they will be making and selling a reliable version of it? 🤔

That splashdown was executed to perfection, so it looks like those two astronauts will be in for a ride of there life, for the trip up to the ISS sometime this summer.

Let's see what Tesla have to say about the Model "Y" next week, but I think this could be the one that everyone has been waiting for.

Just picked up a brand new BMW 1 Series this week, 1.5lt Petrol Auto, lovely car but a piece of outdated junk compared to a Tesla Model "3" or "Y" even, but it will do for now!

Must be the first ever splashdown executed with perfection, I reckon splashdowns are the way forward tbh!

I am certainly holding off getting a new car until I see the “Y” I hope I will be able to give it a good extensive test drive before I commit a deposit and pick it up within a month or two.

I hope I am still able to drive when the time eventually comes, if the Tesla Model 3 is anything to go by!

What do BMW know about making motor cars for goodness sake. By the time Tesla roll out a decent car, the likes of BMW will be way ahead of the game, if they are not already........Not a BMW fan btw, just saying it as it is, but yes, the 1 Series is not a great car unless you just want to go shopping, I would hate to have one forced on me tbh. I do feel sorry for you there Francais.

So, we ALL wait for the announcement from Teslla about the Y then.......Can’t wait! 😳😳

Yep, Mike I am not best pleased having the BMW 1 Series as my company car, but beggars can't be choosers !
How they get a price of £29,000 for the P11D is a joke, and my tax code will be taking a hit.
Give me a Hyundai 130 or VW Golf any day of the week over the Beamer.
Although there is light at the end of the tunnel, as the contract with BMW ends in November.
We are on a crazy scheme, as the Beamer gets changed over every 4 months for a new replacement and I am on my second one, pun intended, now since last November.
Nice car to drive though I will give it that, with it's ultra slick 8 speed auto box.
For me though as a car, it's just not practical enough.
