That’s odd Stuart, I see at least five Tesla’s per day up here in the North West whilst I am out at work, although I am on the road for around 3 hours each day, in between client visits.

One of my colleagues who works mostly around Norwich hardly ever sees them as well, and my colleague who works in London would not know what a Tesla is, even if one crashed into him, which in theory is an impossibility although can happen !

Like you Stuart, I live not that far from London, and so far I have seen two Teslas. One in London, and one near Waltham Cross, and that is ever since I started following this thread. They just don't seem to be that popular around here.

Well last week, I even got to see two Tesla Model 3's at the Superchargers, one at Oxford services on the M40 and the other at Burtonwood services on the M62.
And yes I do spend an unhealthy amount of time on UK motorways whilst at work Monday through to Friday each and every week.

To this day the only charger I have ever seen in use is at a bus company depot. They have a small car which their bus drivers use to go to and from on-the-road change-over points. I doubt it does more than 30 miles a day, so it's ideal.

I shall forever hang my head in shame Mike3003.

In my defence Mrs Francais had me watching Poldark again with her last night, thankfully there are only two more episodes to go of the darn drivel, and I am pleasantly pleased that there will be no more after that, as there is only so much flogging that a dead horse can take !

These figures even surprised me, new UK car registrations for August.

Ford Fiesta 3,978
VW Golf 3,439
Tesla Model 3 oh yes back of the net with 2,082
Ford Focus 1,886
Merc A-Class 1,880
Ford Kuga 1,770
VW T-Roc 1,685
VW Tiguan 1,632
Vauxhall Corsa 1,592
Ford Ecosport 1,477

Third best selling UK car in August, the Tesla Model 3 is doing good, all the fossils listed above were down on the same month for the previous year.

I was surprised that, of the top selling cars, only 11% (2082/18491) were Tesla. This will be even lower for all cars sold during August.

With all the hype on this forum I would have expected it to be much higher

Well the VW iD has been revealed in fullness at the Frankfurt motor show this week.

Basically it’s the latest electric Golf, 77kwh battery so 340 miles range, two smaller battery versions also available.

A 200 mile entry level version is to be around £24k so a lot cheaper than any Tesla.

They are to be built in what was the Trebant factory, which is a kind of irony, production rates will be high with a car coming of the line every 90 seconds, that’s going to be serious volume.

If you pre sell a cars years in advance and secure orders, when it is actually released you will get a lot of registrations in the month it is released. Who knew?

Most of the pre ordered UK Tesla Model 3’s arrived and were registered in July, just saying.

VW have missed a trick with the new ID.3, as it does not appear to have been type approved for towing of any kind, crazy really as towing a small none braked 750kg trailer with such a car would be more than possible.

Although it does come with some kind of rear bumper kit for use as a cycle carrier.
