Maybe in the early days of Tesla but not now ST1100, the Model 3 and the Model Y are a completely different kettle of fish, compared to the early versions of the Model S and Model X.
The Model Y will be Tesla’s best selling car of all time, and with decent towing capability as well.
The European version is to be built near Berlin, and will be available in 2022 by that time, Tesla will have learnt a lot from the Model Y’s that they are churning out in the U.S. and soon Shanghai were the Model 3 is already in production.
By the time they start producing the Model Y in Berlin it will be perfection, even the paint and fit and finish, will blow away many of the legacy car makers, who are still shackled by there fossil car legacy.
No other BEV maker can come near Tesla, simply put they are at least 10 years ahead of the game, all mass produced Tesla vehicles are designed from the ground up to be electric, there is simply no way that the legacy fossil car makers will ever catch up Tesla with there BEV’s.
No other BEV maker has put in a charging infrastructure like what Tesla has, which is something other manufacturers need to be thinking about as the adoption of BEV ownership ramps up, Tesla has reached out to other makers, with a view to sharing the Tesla supercharger network, but so far there has been no takers.

Can't believe that marg6, thought I got my facts wrong about Tesla's being able to tow.
Bessie, you are spot on, you often don't notice a Tesla at first glance, I think only the Model X, stands out as it is two big for UK and european roads, as are most other over sized SUV's.
But the Model S and Model 3 just blend in, they are very understated cars, very much a wolf in sheaps clothing, which is one of the reason why I like them so much.
What I also like is the use of aluminium body pannels and sub frames, legacy car makers are just stuck in there old ways, and keep using steel for the body panels, mainly as it is easier to work with in production.
OK aluminium can be a bitch to repair, and is easiar to dent than steel, but if the body shop has the right kit and personal, repairs are no different than that of steel bodied cars.
