I presume this is sales of new cars. I would imagine that Hybrids will soon overtake sales of other types fairly soon, but then by far the majority of car sales are used vehicles.

If we chose to replace our Santa Fe, a hybrid might have to be the answer as there are limited diesel only options. Not in a rush.
I have ordered a new Mini convertible, they don't do hybrid or electric soft tops yet.

Just four weeks until the delivery of our Hyundai Tucson Ultimate Plug in Hybrid. Our first foray into electrification, excited, but will give a fair and honest opinion in a few months time.

I have a Hyundai Tucson Ultimate hybrid (not plug in), like it very much but some of the technology is just a bit gimmicky/unnecessary. don't like it that to close the tail gate using key fob or button in the car the close control has to be held continuosly until the tail gate is fully closed, this is not necessary if using the button on the tail gate.Takes a bit of time to get used to using the touch screen for most things my previous car
(CX5 )had a scroll wheel controller.

And sales have been slowly ramping for EV all year . In the UK, full EV were about 1/4 of all new cars sold. Diesel were just 7%. Just Tesla outsold _all diesel_ cars by more than 1.5 to 1.

My new diesel Berlingo is being delivered early March. One of the last diesel Berlingo cars ever made I am told. From this year only electric Berlingo cars can be ordered. Glad I ordered mine last Oct. I guess I will have to get 10 years out of this one.

10 years is nothing to a modern car. The Volvo I had for quite a few years and sold back in 2018 is still taxed and MOTd for nearly a year, and that is now 22 years old. The diesel X Trail I drive now is 13 years old and is in as good a condition as a 3 year old car would have been in back in the 1960s.

I plan on keeping the X Trail for as long as I possibly can, and hope it sees out the rest of my driving days as I can't afford another car.

I've recently read that a lot of car manufacturers are not having their new electric cars homogenized for towing anything due to the reduced distance they would travel before recharging when towing. Hence putting people off buying them and getting a bad reputation if they did. Sounds like new electric cars capable for towing may be limited in the future.
If I can find the article I will post a link.

I would think that it is a commercial decision, the demand for EVs that can tow is very small compared to the amount of cars that don't need a towing ability, it must increase the weight and cost to manufacture thereby reducing their competitiveness.

I believe it to be 2000kg, but please donít take that as gospel. I will look into it. 👍

It would appear to be closer to 1350 kg, it is a heavy car with 261bhp. So probably limited to single axle, twin vans.
