Nothing obsessive going on with these lists, just normal camping behaviour!!!

Did anyone see the naff holiday swap show where a camping family took a luxury holiday family camping. They were camping middens and put the other family off for life. I wish they'd do a show like that and show what a quality camping holiday is like - I was embarrassed for real campers everywhere by this lazy slob approach to the great outdoors.

Yep, i saw it - they didn't have a tent carpet nor did they wear white, linen jackets either. Bah, bloody scruffy campers!

I didn't see the programme , but I'm quite glad that they might have put people off more space for us on campsites cheaper rates etc etc etc

Not actually started camping yet apart from motorbike trips, 4 to 5 a year in a 2 man tent and love it. Anyway here is what I am looking to buy this month. Any iput would be greatly appreciated.

2 adults, 1 x 4year old (possible 3 more kids 15, 9, 3) - already have these so not looking to buy anymore!

planning first year camping and this is my shortlist to BUY.(more or less ordered)

Tent Ohio XL

Car   Drive a Galaxy (actual)

Roofbox    Kamie Delphin 460

Utility    None

cooker    ???

Coolbox   Coleman 70 liter

Bedding    Aerobed raised king (not though of kids yet)

Lighting   ????

Furniture Outwell hamilton table, 4 outwell chairs,  outwell kitchen cuboard (???)

Windbreak   do I need 1?

Tarp        do I need 1?

Anything else that I need to consider?

I actually live in Basel, Switzerland so all camping will be in Summer and more than likely in, Spain, Southern France, Italy or Switzerland.

Tents- OW Arkansas 5, for weekends the Coleman trailblazer 5 and for overnights or touring a  great little Khyam 3 man easypitch (the name escapes me right now.)

Vehicle - our beloved old Ford Escort (surprisingly roomy to pack it all in!) With a roofrack for a cycle mounts.

Would love a trailer but in a small terrace with on street parking it's impossible.

Utility - none

Cooker - Hi-gear camp stove, single suitcase style stove, Outwell Cahors folding barbecue and my lovely new Cobb.  (The combination we take depends where we are going and for how long)

Coolbox - Waeco T32 if we have hook up, plus a mobicool electric coolbag, or traditional coolbox/bag with iceblocks if no electric.

Bedding - Coleman comfort double airbed, wynnster trekker king sleeping bag plus fleece blankets and proper pillows!

Lighting - leccy if EHU, if not battery lantern, head torches and coleman gas lantern.

Furniture - kitchen stand bought on sale in blacks.  Aluminiun roll top table, 2 outwell chairs

Windbreak - blue Outwell bought on sale, eyeing up one with a canopy .

Heating - argos fan heater if with hook up, if not hats, fleece blankets and hot water bottles.

Currently sitting in our BL6 in margate, it is blowing a hurricane and the rain is coming down in buckets! We are sitting in front of the heater playing cards and have no problems to report regarding the tent!
