maybe i dreamt this one (bloody good idea if i did) but i am sure i have seen some sort of jigsaw waterproofy type matting that would go on the entrance of the tent for taking shoes off etc............. they had something similar in winfields which was brill, it was 17-00 not mega expensive i know but wondered if anyone knows of a cheaper alternative cos its just to walk on............
Keely i think i might have seen it on your tent at newark?
go to france on tuesday and i think it might be wet so hoping to get some for then

We use this

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/redirect.asp?redir=http://www.towsure.com/product/15243-Easylock_Flooring_Tiles

nice and light weight but quite bulky, we have 2 packs, one for the front of the tent and one for the side extension

Hi Gilly - a lot of European campers use artificial grass around their tents probably because of the dusty pitches - Lidl are selling a roll of it from tomorrow for 5.99

They are brilliant ... Kampa do them for about 10 for 4 large squares (2 ft x 2ft).
Any large outdoor sshop should have them

We have jigsaw rubber matting from Aldi, got last year it was 10 for six squares they also had holes in them for the water to run through etc. They were very lightweight and they lie flat in the boot and we just pack everything on top of them!

If you can hang off I'm sure they will have them again.

The Lidl stuff is brilliant - I use it under the airbeds and it makes a HUGE differance. It's not like astroturf - it feels a bit like carpet tiles.

Off to buy some more tommorrow. Only down side is it takes up a lot of space.

They had it in The Range display. Managed to trip over it in the shop so decided it's not for me...

we also use the kampa tiles. Just bought a 2nd pack as its only 4 tiles per pack and that wasnt enough. It was a godsend last year in Cornwall, used it in the canopy area by the front door.

Have a fab holiday Gill.

Purchased 2 packs of the Kampa tiles from Towsure (12.99 for four) prior to Easter camp at Scarborough. What a lifesaver (Ok, not quite, but I'm sure if ya had enuff and fell in water they'd make a good floatation device/raft? Lol).....sorry, I digress.
Point is, whilst everyone else is dragging staw kindly provided by site staff into their units, I'm hovering above the mud on my rubber tiles.
Great purchase and highly recommended.
I will be gettin some more for the sun canopy.....obviously when the sun decides to put it's hat on, eventually?

I prefer the ones without holes as the mud/grass tend to come up through them and they can be a problem to clean. The ones I use are completely waterproof and come in more interesting colours - plus a bag to keep them in.

I know you won't get them for Tuesday now, sorry I've only just read your post.Perhaps next time?
