By popular request (okay, one person then), I present you with an unashamedly large number of pics taken during our week in Cornwall over Easter.

Starting with a few shots of the tent of course:

Vango Albany 600, Tunnel Extension, Footprint and Carpet:

The “Kitchen”

The “Living Room”

The Walk-in Wardrobe and Guest Room

...and of course, the Master Suite.

A few shots of the site, Camping Caradon:

Near the site is a gorgeous bit of woodland, with trees stretching forever upwards and carpets of bluebells.

The lane is guarded by lambs though, so beware!

Of course, lots of running through trees makes for a very tired doggie.

Next post, some piccies of nearby Looe.

Looe is a beautiful fishing village, and very popular tourist destination. We were down here a good few times through the week, sampling the fresh fish, Cornish ice cream and of course a proper cream tea!

Barely half a mile up the coast from Looe is a gem of a beach, Hannafore Beach. We spent hours skimming stones, soaking the dog and sifting through shells. From here, you also get a great view of Looe Island.

Featured in the pics is my OH, our friend Andy and our faithful fuzzball Sasha.

Our final destination on this virtual tour is a little further along the coast, in the small but perfectly formed Polperro. If I could live anywhere, I would choose here. Every moment I spent here just made me feel at peace.

I hope you enjoyed looking at the pics as much as I enjoyed taking them. Hopefully I’ll be back there soon enough.

Your posting brought back a lot of very happy memories Damon. Thank You. I worked down there back in the mid 60's and again in the early 70's. You've really fired me up with a desire to return but it is a very long way from Yorkshire It looks like you enjoyed your time there as much as I did

Great pics, glad you had a great time. We went to Cornwall last summer but it was sooo busy, and such a long way to travel that we wont be going again for a while.

Nice looking site though!

Super pics. As a Cornwall fanatic it was great to see them.
I love Polperro, always enjoy a visit there. On a sunny day it's fantastic, these days however we tend to visit out of season to avoid all the crowds.
Thanks for posting the pics.

Until this trip, I also hadn’t been since I was 11. Part of me wondered if it would live up to the idealistic memories I had of that holiday. Well, it did, and a whole lot more. I enjoyed it for the same reasons I had as a kid, as well as being able to appreciate the area in new ways from an adults point of view.

Thanks. I’d like to make a career out of photography as it is something I truly enjoy doing regardless of the subject matter. But it is such a tough business to break into, as practically anyone can pick up a decent digital camera these days, so it’s very hard to set yourself apart and stand out. Also, most people are just happy to see their pictures in print, and will give them away to news/media etc for nothing, so actually selling a picture for profit is tough if you aren’t “known” as such.

If you can allow yourself a week or more, then the journey is well worth it. We travelled just over 300 miles each way, stopping a few times for the dog, and I felt surprisingly fresh at the end of each journey. OH didn’t have to share the driving with me at all, and I don’t do regular long runs.

On the way down, we set off just after 2am, arriving in Looe at around 8.30am. We hit no traffic at all and had the whole day ahead of us (I did sleep well that night). On the return journey we left mid afternoon, beating rush hour around Bristol and Birmingham, and only slowing for 10 minutes or so on the M62 onto the M60.

Thanks. It was very busy in Looe over the Easter weekend, and especially so on Easter Sunday, but most of the time we avoided the main crowds by choosing our times to visit places and allowed ourselves ample time to wander rather than have to push through the throng.

It is a long way, and I’m sure the journey is a bit tougher when carting kids around. I was lucky that the OH had her head buried in a book and our dog is quite content to watch the world go by.

Has the weather taken a turn then? It was wonderful last week (aside from the odd bit of wind and very light but refreshing shower).

Either that, or you are referring to the great big JCB sat at the top of the slip into Polperro harbour, which I managed to avoid with the camera lens. Tis an ugly bugger, that’s for sure.

We actually ended up looking at property while we were there, and have continued to do so since our return home. Some places are much more reasonably priced than I would have expected. Just need to find a job now....

Thank you. We spent a fair few evenings in the Three Pilchards, and our dog made friends with the barman in the Blue Peter (who looks more than a bit like John Leslie, bizarrely).

I think the main differences between the Horizon and the Albany are cosmetic, and a few things like tension bands and drop down doorways (ours), storage pockets and better ventilation (yours).

I would gladly recommend the site to anyone, and the owners are a delight.

It only looks tidy because that was day 1. You really didn’t want to see it by day 6... Suffice to say when we got home I got the carpet back out and hoovered it (flippin’ dog hairs!)
