Chair out, beer open, watch the missus put the tent up!
I really can not wait to get to Cornwall in september, got a camping trip in just over a weeks time at a 4x4 show in Northampton then the next one is Cornwall then plan next year as i've spent most of this year making my vehicle into an overlander with a roof tent on the roof
The holiday's not started properly until you've had a 'holiday argument'. If we've not had one on the way, because I've always wanted to see that roundabout in Swindon, then as you've got to your pitch is as good a time as any, I find.
We've always put the tent up first then set up things like bed, chairs table etc. Once that's done, as long as its past noon (even by a minute) we crack open a bottle of beer and relax until its time to take it all back down to go home. I hate the thought of doing it in stages because I'm intrinsically lazy so like to get the boring and strenuous stuff done and dusted immediately.
I usually take a flask with me. I peg out the footprint, put up the outer tent, put in the bedroom, then have a quick cuppa. When I've revived (I don't bend as easily as I used to!) I put the bed and other bits in then have some sandwiches (prepared earlier) and another cuppa. Then I feel I've really arrived.

I need to slow down and have a cuppa or a can when we arrive on site or the tent will be put up facing the wrong way for wind and rain. We try to take a flask and nibbles just in case someone is getting hangry, it can be a very tense time whilst the tent is going up! Think thatís a hangover from helping my dad put the tent up
------------- Loving spur of the moment camping but starting to get worried that my skin is going to turn to leather!!
Nowadays, hook up, awning out if it is sunny, a can of something cold, and peg out the windbreak to minimise the risk of the dog barking at all the passer-by especially other dogs!
Then the sun lounger will come out so that I could sit under the awning for a rest and more drinks.
Or fill up the kettle for a brew if it is nippy.
------------- - Treat life events like a dog: If you can't eat it, play with it, or hump it, p1$$ on it and walk away! - 2023 - started to plan already! - 2022 - 9 sites / 45 nights booked so far - 2021 - 9 sites / 34 nights - Apple The Campervan - A Van For Work, Rest And Play!
Tent out, tent up, bedroom pod up, then bedding stuff thrown in. Find a chair, grab a 'little beer' from the coolbox, imbibe, then finish the setting up of tables, putting box/bag of food and utensils etc in place, EHU if using, and then other fripperies if a longer stay. Have another little beer. ZZZZZZz.
