hello all, We are getting excited to go to brittany in july. Our sunncamp shadow 600 has not had proper use since 2018 ( only weekends where no rain was guaranteed!), its 12 years old and from memory the last time it had a soaking it was wet through- no beading, and slight leaking inside. Would people recommend waterproofing...and if so what to use and best way to apply it! Many thanks in advance

I have used fabsil waterproofing in the past on both cotton and synthetic fabric tents. It worked well. Applied with a paint brush then a smooth over with a clean cloth.

A few weeks ago at a motorcycle rally one of our semi regulars had a bad leak on a three year old Kyham ( surprise surprise! ) he went out to a local mountain warehouse store and purchased a five litre pump bottle of Nikwax (on the recommendation of the store ) not sure if it worked because the rest of the weekend we had brilliant weather, but he certainly used the lot on his tent !
But seeing you state your tent is 12 years old and had started to leak previously, if it were me I would be looking into buying a new tent .. Just my opinion of course since you are going to Brittany.
