Hi Carl
As regards your fridge it will only work on either gas or mains when pitched the 12 volt is controlled by a relay so it only runs the fridge whilst towing, the fan is also 12 volt the three lights you mention Iím assuming are the ceiling lights also 12 volt. You donít give the age of your van but most vans have gas and mains operation to the water heater and fire. Hope this helps and if you can give me some more details, age of van, model etc I may be able to help further.
Peter

Hi Carl The water heater will be a carver if it has just Carver cascade G then its gas only GE means it gas and electric and will have a mains cable leading to it and a mains fused spur switch and control panel, if you look behind the heat exchanger of the fire you will see the electric heater element and near it another mains fused spur switch and control panel if not it's gas only and in 1987 very few vans apart from top of the range ones had electric hot water and heating. The pump lights run of the caravan 12 volt battery there will be a 3 position switch with CAR OFF CARAVAN make sure it set at caravan when not connected to the car otherwise the 12 v won't work, and switch to car whilst towing to charge the battery and run the fridge. if the 12volt works when not on mains and does not work when the EHU is plugged in the fault could be in the charger.

Sorry if I'm maybe telling my granny how to suck eggs

think it needs looking at, Devons a bit out of my area we could go on for ever trying to solve it like this but it sounds like a 12 volt fault. one last thought check all the fuses with a multi meter they can look ok but be blown. but that's all i can suggest

Dale welcome along to the forum.
Doll3r has not posted in over a year, so you might be unlucky with a reply.
Hopefully though another member could help.
