Has anyone had occasion to adjust the door locking mechanism on one of these,to get it open and if so how do you get access to it?
Ours has developed a habit of not opening when depressing the button on top of the door, leaving a real struggle to prise it open. If it continues to get worse I could end up damaging the door when trying to open it.

Hi Cliff
I`ve been away from my laptop so couldn`t respond. The product number is 921712910, anything you have which could be of use will be very much appreciated.

Ok this model suffered from an issue where the activation rod gets stuck there is a service bulletin with part number of parts depending on the colour, it's a pdf file which I can't post on here, if you post your email address I can send it to you, or message the moderators to see if they can let me send it to your email

Thanks Cliff, I can get the door open by getting one hand under it and lifting whilst operating the buttons on the top of the door at present.

I`ll ask the mods to let you have my email address, so if you could let me have the info I`ll attack it when I get back home, I can possibly fabricate a modification if one is needed by unavailable.

Thanks again

Absolutely without dismissing cliffbrown's contribution, who may be well be spot on, caravan fridges seem to be notorious for hinge wear allowing the door to drop, so before investigating expensive spares/parts, and/or drilling holes etc., take a look at whether or not it's simply a catch misalignment problem caused by a worn hinge!

Competent DIY'ers seem to successfully rectify worn hinge problem by DIY bushing the hinge pivot point by various methods, rather than completely replacing extortionately expensive original parts.

Good luck.

Monty15 might have a point as the service bulletin features on a sticking rod in the door not allowing actuation of the catch, if you can open by lifting the door the service bulletin might not be relivant for your problem

Your door might have dropped, but the actuation of the catch might be normal, but because the door has dropped it is now insufficient to lift the catch to open, does that make sense to you

Although it is a 2016 van, it is currently only on its 12th expedition, so I`m not discounting worn hinges but I would be disappointed if thats the case.

Prior to cliffbrown`s suggestion of a possible known defective catch issue I was intending to install a spacer when I got home initially to lift the door a couple of millimetres and see if that solves things.

I`ll be home next week, so if that doesn`t sort it..... "I`ll be back!"

If the hinge pin has worn the hole, there will be movement if you lift the non-hinge side up. I found the original round hole in mine had elongated so I obtained a suitable nylon flange bearing and drilled out the appropriate hole in which to fit it. Such a pity that wasn't done at manufacture.
