Hi all, new to the caravan world! Need some advice. Looking at purchasing a Swift Challenger 1997, however the cooker has been removed and left a damaged unit. There is a gas hob fitted. We have tried searching for a second hand cooker but have not had any luck so far. Can anyone advise if this is a viable option and what to look for? Thanks in advance! Any help/advice appreciated.

Welcome to UKCS.
I’m not quite understanding. You say no “cooker”, but there’s a gas hob. Do you mean the MH doesn’t have the grill & oven unit?
(If it’s any consolation, we only use our oven as a cupboard; it uses a lot of gas.)
Try some of the breakers - someone’s may know the websites.

The previous caravan we had, a 1988 Elddis Tornado, only had a hob fitted so we bought a small portable electric oven and used that. It was fine.

If you are anywhere down this way, Essex Caravan Breakers might possibly have a gas oven removed from one they have scrapped.

We had a Hymer motorhome that only had a 2 burner hob before the caravan we have now with a full cooker. We use the oven as a bread bin and to store the toaster, we never use the grill and the microwave is never used either.
If you don't need to use gas there are plenty of options like a Remoska or a multi cooker

Sometimes a little rain must fall before you reach a rainbow.

The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow, but the rainbow won't wait while you finish the work.

The space where the oven would live will would nicely provide storage room for a Halogen oven.

They’re wonderful things. You can cook anything from breakfast to a full Sunday roast with all the trimmings.

Easy to clean, versatile and cheap (Aldi or Lidl <£40). They don’t use any gas as they run on electricity and are also very portable so you can use it in the house too if you like!

David
