Well I hope everyone has a great time camping!

It's pretty easy indyred, especially when you've done it a few times. First we lay down the tent, then I sort out all the poles and lie them down at the side. Then you feed through the two dome poles in a criss-cross. Fit the pins at the bottom at one side of the tent then fit one at a time on the other, lifting up the dome with each (I usually stand on the pinned side and hold the poles as they bend). Then you fit the bedroom arch, the rear brow pole and then the front brow (that can be a bit tricky because of the tension and you have to fit the ends into metal eyelets, but if you bend the pole it's easier). You of course peg as you go along. We found that you don't neccessarily have to peg straight away (if it's not windy) so you can get the layout/tension right.

A query I have. We went round a few camping stores today and went into a couple of Orchys - a 500 and 600. Now me and OH were a bit baffled because it didn't seem that much bigger than our 400. Does anybody else think the same? We bought the 400 because it's what we could afford at the time. We would have got the 500 but it was beyond our budget, but looking at it today, I'm glad we saved the money.

Am a bit bummed though that the 2009 Orchy has the electric cable access zip point... that's one thing we wish we had... I'd like to know what other improvements they've made since our 2008 version...

We`ve had our Orchy for 2 years now, and its stood up to many a gale. We also have the large sun canopy, and it def. sits snugger to the tent than the ones in your picture Chelz. But I guess, as we don`t sit in the living area of the tent much, we aren`t to bothered about blocking the windows, the roof lights make it plenty light enuf.

Don`t have any pictures of it with the canopy, and I`m rubbish at posting pictures, but there is a picture of it , minus the canopy, in the reviews section.Hopefully will get some at the end of May

I have to say, the pink and black looks well funky.

Well I checked out pics beforehand and there always seemed to be a bit of a gap... Having said that we might get a better fit once we've put it up a few more times. We do sit in the living area quite a bit, and like being able to nosey out of the windows... so it's not just a light issue... ;)

Not exactly sure what you mean pubgal... the windows at the front are different? Is that what you mean? There are two windows, one on either side of the front porch door. I guess they might be a bit bigger on the bigger size of tent, but I couldn't tell the difference. If you manage to compare them that would be great! I'd really like to know. Keep us informed! As the Pillaton meet was original the " bargain cabanon meet" then I won`t have my Orchy there.

However, I will endeavor to get some pictures this BH weekend

can you imagine the amount of people getting confused and going back to the wrong tents in a field where they all look the same !!

Pull the guys that attach to the porch poles forwards towards the tent entrance..it looks a bit odd but it works!

I notice someone was wondering about canopies..my gallery images show an Orchy 500 + large canopy..just wish that they had had the one with doors now last year when we had purchased! Be careful with it if up when it is windy as it does stress the dome poles.

Indyred...you have a great taste in tents!

Now just need some weather and time to get out again. Not been away since easter and getting twitchy...although have some good palns for when the boys are off in the summer!
