. We have a sage and laurel version with the side extension, we didn't try this though, wish we had now.

where did you get the side extension from and is it meant to actually fit the orchy

This is what we bought http://www.camperlands.co.uk/store/erol.html#11068X61316

Hope it fits!!!!

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been alway for a while, I've had the post-camping blues. Had a great time but after getting home and the weather has been just gorgeous, I couldn't get the motivation...

The tenacious tape is great! I had a hole in my reusable folding shopping bag and have fixed it with the tape, just stuck some on either side and it's done the trick!

The stupid thing is, we were away for 2 weeks and TOTALLY forgot to take pics of the tent! There is one pic of me inside the Kura but that was before we put up the canopy. Anyway the tent and canopy were GREAT! The only problem was the carpet... stupidly it only fits part of the living area... not the entire porch area. We had to do the picnic rugs thing... Why make a carpet to fit your tent that doesn't cover the whole of the groundsheet in the living area?

Just going to catch up on all the posts I've missed... glad to see it's still been active in here and WELCOME to all new members!!!

Pubgal. We've recently been converted to folding camp beds, with foam mats on. Honestly I sleep so much better on one of those than the airbed. And during out last trip we discovered that that our airbed has a puncture (my parents wanted to use it). I hate it when you have to keep pumping them up even when they don't have a puncture.

Well we've got the smaller Orchy and there's only 2 of us, but we found that the bedroom got messy. It's good having the campbeds because all of my shoes go underneath. And we now have a small wardrobe (I think it's an Easycamp) with two large shelves. I have got a large wardrobe, but it's too tall to fit in the Orchy. Tried it when I first got it, but it nearly fell over... we were on a slope and it was windy... I could put it in the living area but it would either block a window or the side door.

No matter what you do, you will always end up with a messy tent! LOL. Even in the big Kura, we had to keep moving things to get to others, even with the extra room! And the sides of the living area were lined with all our bits and bobs...

I've finally used my Orchy 400 'in anger' - ie not just in the garden! This was for a small music festival. I even got admiring enquiries from the 'neighbours'!

A couple of questions for anyone who has used these tents regularly -

First, even by 8am the sleeping area was unbearably hot and the roof windows were completely covered in condensation. Previous tents I've owned had roof vents which I think keeps the air flowing better. I had the front and side vents partly open all night but there was still a lack of air flow. ANyone any ideas how to make the tent more comfy in hot weather?

Also, the main dome poles tended to pull themselves into a sort of elongated 's' shape rather than being straight. It wasn't a problem because it wasn't wet or windy but I can see this making the tent less rigid in bad weather. SOme parts of the flysheet were obviously quite taut but other bits were saggy. I'd pegged the tent out before tightening the tension straps, I realised after that the instructions say to tighten the straps first. Could that be why? Which is the best order to do things in when erecting the tent, to make it sit nice and evenly all round?

We used the canopy on our 600 this weekend....fantastic addition.....made the living area totally redundant. So, as it was hot, OH and I slept in the living area on the last night, the kids had a `bedroom` partition each.....

Pubgal......we have four in the bedroom, two campbeds ( eurohike cheapies) for the girls with storage space underneath, and we have a double aerobed. It does fill it to capacity, but with space between the beds for moving....when its hot it gets very stuffy in there though.

I have never had a problem with a `saggy bedroom`!

We need to re pitch ours tonight, as it rained as we were packing up, so I will measure it with the canopy on the side.

Could you pitch the tent sideways on the pitch, put the canopy on the side door and use that as the main entrance?....or is that defeating the object..........

How much shorter / narrower is the 500?
