Yesterday Caseys at Chester had three Airbeams up. Two inside a big marque and one outside, last week they had two up.

Winfields (Accribgton\Haslingden) had a few Airbeams up last ime we went.

Sorry I can't say which models as we are not interested in getting one (I do think they are nice tents though from looking at them, just not for us)

Cheers

Went to Kool kamping today in all the wind and rain and their tent display is outside so you can see all the tents and how they work in real weather instead of indoors.

They have a few kampa tents up including the Studland : )

Right been to Caseys, Can I just say what wonderful people they are, not only did they agree to let me photo the 3 tents they also came out with me in the rain and held a brolly over me.
Pulse 450

robens vista 300

cabanon guadaloop

I hope this helps, they are a fabulous retailer and very helpful, thanks to them for my newly acquired airfusion 10cm SIM's. They are deffo on top of my retailer list.

We'll have to second you Phiil in respect of Caseys (near Chester). As far as we are concerned fantastic retailer. Two trips there - lots spent as it happens but only because we were so comfortable with them and they were all prepared to spend time talking and not just about tents\camping.

Their tent display is the most varied we have found so far with a good mix o cotton, poly cotton and polyester from a good mix of manufacturers.

Cheers

Phil

You are a star mate!! I decided to hibernate yesterday in the end after looking outside and seeing a big ark being built!!!! I am going to go to Caseys next Saturday me thinks to get a closer look at whats available! I think the cabaonon is a no no from that picture but will certainly take a look at the Robens. They are the same manufacturer as Outwell aren't they?? The first tent I liked was the Nevada M in actual fact. I know slightly bigger but I did like it!! lol

Again, thanks Phil!!

There's plenty of Nevada M's around, there's one up at Stockport Go and Manchester Go. Easy enough to erect Solo, being fibreglass poles.
Not got one at Casey's.
But its a 5 birth and a bit big for as solo camper, unless you take dogs or someone else.
I would look at a
Carolina m used
Lanai reef new
missouri river 3 used
Oakland M or L new
Birdland 3 or 4 new
Robens Horizon or Vista new

A lot depends on your budget and whether or not you want polycotton or polyester.
By the sound of it you are confused with having too many options.
First choose a budget for the tent, I assume you need everything.
Then decide if you are going to use EHU or not (if not i advise a polycotton tent)
Sleeping bag 3-4 season
carpet or not
footprint or not
what are you going to sleep on? Air bed, camp bed or Sim
The accessories soon mount up cost wise.
what are you going to sit on?
What are you going to cook with?
etc etc.
If you want I am happy to meet up and help out.
Phil

Hi Phil

Thanks for advice and offer!! I have just been looking at size differences between the Birdland 4 and the Nevada M and I was quite surprised at the little difference. The Birdland is longer than the Nevada but the Nevada is wider so perhaps not so much difference! I was thinking that maybe one day I might have company to take with me so a little more space wouldn't go amiss!! (I should be so lucky!! lol). That was the one thing about the Pulse 450 - the lack of being able to add a canopy for example. I was just thinking about cooking etc, not that I am like Jamie Oliver but having somewhere separate to cook. Am I over analysing this by any chance?? lol

Steve

You will need somewhere to cook, preferably not inside the tent. If its the Nevada m your thinking of then you can get a couple of extension options.

heres a video of the cross method to pitch it solo.

Peg all 4 corners then:

Well, I have done a couple of hundred miles today looking at tents!!! lol

I made it to Caseys first of all and was impressed with their set up on the whole and it was good to see the Cabanons up close and was very impressed apart from the price where not so much!! lol It was good to see a selection of Robens that I haven't seen before. They had a poly-cotton double horizon I believe which certainly took my eye. It is last years model though which makes me think what are the differences??

I then went to Winfields in Haslingden where again I was suitably impressed with the selection available. They did have a Carolina M there which was a surprise. Obviously a bit cheaper than a Nevada M and it seems bigger! Ironically I didn't see a Nevada M but do have it in memory from Go Outdoors visit a few months ago. I think the Airbeams are now a distant memory with all the problems Scale and others have had!

So, I need to start looking at pros and cons now and costs etc! This is where the fun and brain pain comes into play!!!

Enjoyed our trip to Casey's today. Really interested to see the Airbeams, what problems have people had with them?
